ET and Vista
I just decided today to download ET on my new computer, yes the original ET that we have all played and just won't die out, because I've been sitting around the dorm lately and I need something to do. I'm still waiting on the confirmation e-mail from enemy-territory.com so I can login and access the download section.
But I was wondering...
Does ET run with Vista? or shall I stop now...

Re: ET and Vista
Mine works fine. I have a test machine that I use more than my XP machine (got to learn all the stuff that's changed, even though I think the OS sucks rocks).
ET runs fine, but I also have a 64-bit Vista Ultimate with 5GB of RAM. ET crashes ocassionally (in game I get "Invalid Windows API" errros, which I think is PB not getting what it wants from the OS).
Just make sure you have a decent amount of RAM, and by that I mean 1GB+ (with 2GB STRONGLY recommended).
In an XP vs. Vista comparison, I have Crysis installed on both machines, and it runs "OK" in Vista (and all 5GB of RAM), yet it runs 100 times better on my 32-bit XP Pro with 3GB of RAM. Same hardware (XP only recognizes 3GB of my 5GB), same 8800GTS SLI setup and it runs noticably worse in Vista.
One Note: I launch my ET session using All Seeing Eye, and I believe it launches the game as an Administrator. If you're running Vista and launch the game via a Desktop icon, rty this instead; right-click the icon, and choose "Run as Administrator".
