Banned

Postby JTsexyback » Wed Mar 05, 2008 5:37 am

Guys, last night was on beach 24:7 as usual (playing as JeffVader) I had a bad round and made a few accidental TK's (all with nades) and then got disconnected with message "banned to many teamkills" a warning or timed kick may have been more appropriate no?

It looked a bit messed up as the last blind nade killed and gibbed our dude who had the docs in basement, but shit happens in life. Is there any way to appeal against ze ban?

Thanks for your time :violin::violin::violin:

I'm at work so I can't check if your ban was by the system, or by one of us. In either case, the ban is temporary -- the system will automatically kick you for 300 seconds if your score falls below -20 (which is easier than it seems, especially with a few grenades that accidentally hit a crowd of teammates). After that 300 seconds, you're free to re-join. If one of us banned you, it's probably just for a few hours or days, it depends.

As for a "warning," it's not always possible in the heat of battle for us to determine whether you're making honest mistakes or being a jackass (and the system doesn't warn, it just kicks you). If the TKs are piling up, and people are complaining to us via PM, it really doesn't matter either way: Most of us will remove you as a problem first and ask questions later. If you were just careless, that's fine, you're welcomed back. It's ultra rare for someone to get permanently banned for TKs.

But again, any ban is likely already expired, or will be soon. Whoever issued the ban will have to chime in on how long it was.

Ah, I see, thanks for the clarification, I just presumed it was a perm ban. And yeah, just sloppy play on my part, nothing intentional :) :badger::badger:
