Wolfenstein Server
I have a temporary 16-player Wolfenstein server set up for the suckers ...*cough*... I mean people who bought it. Maybe some of the Beach regulars will want to get together and give the new game a run through.

I read that the people got the boot soon after the game got put on the market lol .....
imo you should get the sack if your going to make such a shite game there was alot of pressure on them to get it right.

Your right Metal there was alot, but their execution was horrible. Look at Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 coming out. I bet those games will have epic sequels to them and will not be a disappointment to the community, because they listen and take their time. These devs did that??? I wouldn't be able to tell...

actually it seems endrant wasn't entirely to blame
various sources say that threewave (the dev originally in charge) fucked up the game bad and put stuff like rocket turrets, mobile machine guns, and atomic mines in the game
endrant then took over and had to rush to meet the deadline being enforced by activision

um, that was in response to people criticizing entrant. i did at first also, but it seems threewave, activision, and id should be blamed just as much if not more so. entrant was not developing the game for eight years so i don't know what you're talking about nubz.

my point on the matter was that while the group making the MP was dicking around so much with what they felt was best for the game, they completely ignored the people who were going to play it. My post was not pointing direct blame at any one sole company, but in the general sense of those creating this game that
A) took too fucking long
and
B) still refused to listen to what players wanted to see (ie what made rtcw popular) and then oooopsie! they had to rush the completion.
That was where I was going with that.

The Shrapmod is looking promising.
If Shrap could do this changes in only 2days (!) then id could fix a great patch in two weeks.

Yeah that is quite a bit better than vanilla, although you still have to press the use key to pick up docs and stuff. Unfortunately there is no way to download the mod from the server. Clients would have to install it manually.

Removed the personal waittime from the respawn system. It operates now just like the ET / RTCW respawn
system, including a random first spawn!
All maps have a 15/15 respawn, except for mp_bank, this map is 13/14 (allied / axis). Its been suggested to put this on 13/13 for each map, needs playtests tho (this is not forgotten)
Removed weapon tracers (gets cvar'd)
Removed the Background image from the scores menu
Raised footstep sounds
Removed muzzleflash (gets cvar'd)
Objectives can now also be picked up by walking over them. No need to grab them anymore
Added a spawntimer to the hud
Weapon indicator icons on the right down side of the hud. Supposed to help in ui_showgun 0 mode
Added a hp display to the hud
Added ammo display to the hud
Lowered Luger weapon sound
Localized Hitsounds. now everybody can have their very own hitsounds, and is not forced to have the hitsounds from the server
Fixed some console spam that the flamethrower was causing on the server side
Lots of map tweaks, like fog removal, fx removals
Removed postprocess
removed the black background too, so you can watch scores ingame...
removed the enerving flash on the main objectives, but kept them on items like weapons

we would have been better off if Endrant would have just built some models and textures and gave them to a couple modder geeks.
