punkbuster and windows 7

Postby sgtslaught42 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 7:33 pm

I read a bunch of other threads and tried uninstall-reinstall, turn windows firewall off, run as admin, keep getting kicked after a minute or so and getting "ignoring queries #9006" error. has anyone found a foolproof way to get wolf to work with windows 7 64 bit?

You probably need to manually update your pb files. Go to evenbalance and grab them.

if you have nvidia card: http://www.nhancer.com/?dat=downloads

download, browse to find rtcw path. compatibility tab, opengl tab, make driver extension value 4844.

not exactly sure what it does but it helped me.

I did all of this stuff still getting ...

while in game getting O/S Exception scrolling, then I get kicked for PB Authentication failure, reinstall PB if problem persists. I have reisntalled about 7 or 8 times now.

Any other ideas?

1. Download PBSetup from Punkbuster here:

http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

*Make sure to right-click and 'run as administrator'

2. Download Punkbuster Service here:

http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe

*Also run this as Administrator.

If these do not help, try uninstalling AVG and/or any security software you have installed.

MAA - I played for about an hour this morning without getting kicked. Thanks again for you help.

I uninstalled pbservice
removed game from pbclient
added game to pbclient
updated pbclient game files
reinstalled pbservice
reboot
