Back from HELL
Does any one even remember me?
OK, so here I am back from Iraq. I was called back to active status with 48 hour notice to be at the airbase. Made my short goodbyes and made it in with 20 minutes to spare.
The Army provided me with an intensive 3-week re-training to get acustomed to my team-mates and we flew to Kuwait.
Keep in mind that this all happened weeks before we were actually in war status with Iraq. Our team were some of the first inside Iraq as observers and intel-gatherers.
When the war actually broke out, there is one mission that I can tell you about:
We had our briefing onboard a carrier, this mission was for our team to forward observe and paint a target for a surgical bombing strike. I won the oppertunity to "personilize" the munition that was going to be used in this mission. On this 2Klb bomb I wrote, "Dance with us! -{ASB}" The pilot saw this and asked of course what ASB stood for, "Air-strike bitches sir." I responded. He liked that and ASB became the go-code for the drop (actually alpha-sierra-bravo). The mission was a smooth one, and the target was hit, yes it was, those that know me dont belive that at all, but I wasnt the one painting, I was the one calling in the drop.
So I got back a week ago, and I would like to know whats been going on for the last months, and who is still here that I know, what server is everyone on now? Were are all my team-mates?

Tender nice to have you back, if only the pilot knew the bunch of homo's that made up the ASB, maybe his reaction would have been different.(only kiddin, just in case you have forgotten my sense of humor)
ASB has a coupleof servers now, check the threads I'm sure there is a topic on them. Thanks for your sacrifice and I'll see you on the beach.

Welcome back! Isn't the gulf FUN! (bleahgh)
Lots of changes. The LTs have been neutered since you left (on the beach server). It seems that hardly any of the old clan people play there anymore. I guess they stick to their own servers now...disguises are now part of shrubmod...
Great story about the bomb... you an AO? If so I.Y.A.O.Y.A.S.

HAHA! Thanks Doug!!!
I had a few close calls, one of them was out of the scene from Pulp Fiction, were they were gunned at, and not touched, with the wall behind them riddled with holes... leaving a great scar on my left arm where I got creased. I swore that took my arm off, untill I had a chance to look at it and called a puss. I had SO many pictures, some I couldnt wait to come home and share, but they all got confescated!
Thank you to all that gives me credit for hanging my ballz out for all. Wether you can credit the whole thing for National security, or not, I can say this, I seen things done by the past rulers of that country that would just sicken. The hardest part of the job was to see the things that they do to other humans, sometimes it seems for the pure joy of hurting, or some sick perverse reasoning. I didnt join the Army primarly because of some patriotical pride, and I dont continue to serve for that reason. Why? They let me play with some cool azz sh1t, and I am part of a team that are made of badasses, baddasser than I can strive to become. So my #1 reason fighting for Uncle Sam, was seeing some of the things I seen, I only hoped that because of the job that my team did, it ends there.

I know the feeling, friend. I made fun of our outdated m102's, but I doubt I'll ever hold that kind of raw power in my hands again. Must be what God feels like when He pulls the lanyard of a howitzer.

Don't doubt your patriotism. You did your duty, and you'd do it again if you were called. I think that's enough said on that.
Again, welcome back.
