Experienced players Hints and Tactics
Greetings Folks. Figured it would be cool to find out the various tricks and styles experienced players like to use to get an advantage.
I'm going to throw a bunch of things down that arn't necessarily cool tricks, but take advantage of character classes.
Meds and lt's--drop med and ammo pacs without being asked. It's a forgone conclusion that someone coming out of a battle beside you is going to need those things.
Don't feed health or ammo standing still on platforms, or anywhere the enemy can see you. If you have to, at least crouch. Preferably, run and drop them as you go. Moving targets are harder to hit--and one guy running isn't as juicy for a faust jock to hit as 4 guys standing in a huddle feeding each other.
Meds, prepare what you need before you get there. 9 out of 10 times that a med stands over me and starts going through his whole knapsack looking for a needle we both eat a nade thrown by a laughing enemy. If you have to--run the other way while getting your needle out or waiting for your gun to re-load. One target isn't as juicy as two.
Bind your keys to your crucial items. I use mouse wheel click down for either needles or ammo packs. No hunting, no fussing. It's cycling it automatically as I'm jumping to whoever I'm helping out.
Head Shots. Don't underestimate them. They are hard to get but worth everyone. Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but one headshot does 50 pt's of damage, whereas a normal body shot is only 15 (slightly dif't {lower for mp40} b/n mp40 and Thompson). You can drop a med in just 3 head shots. When people start screaming that you are cheating, you'll know you're doing it right. Headshots are easier and faster with the mp40, and I find it's more stable/accurate at long range. If you really want to drop people fast, use the Sten at long range. There's a reason they made it over-heat. It's a brutal weapon in the right hands.

I honestly noticed that when you strafe very quickly and move your crosshair(s/p) that you can easily kill an enemy without a problem, but it DOES take practice

Peek around corners
Crouch to aim UNLESS you're in the same room/tight area
Circle-strafe in tight areas
don't bunch up- BACK UP when your teammates pileup at a chokepoint and wait, or go another way
steal uniforms of enemies who haven't tapped out (crouch over them + same button that opens doors)
Poison kills are tough to get against meds, or when meds are around so PK em anyway then immediately pull out your Pistol/SMG and FINISH the job
and most important if you're a noob- don't waste your time with Heavy Weapons. Hone your aim with the SMG and pistol first.

one on ones with light weapons.
this has sorta been covered already, but to be really good in one on ones, always keep moving(strafing left and right).
headshots are very effective only if you have good aim. If your aim isnt to good, start off aiming for the chest. Once you get good, work your way up to the head.
if you are aiming for the body your accuracy percent should be in the mid 30's at least. to be effective with headshots, your overall accuracy should be in the low 20 percent at least.
the mp40 is more accurate than the thompson. It also has a faster rate of fire. The thompson packs a bigger punch, especially in close range.
To be more effective from long range, fire in bursts rather than continuous fire.
there is always lag, even if it is very tiny. So always remember to lead a moving target.(aim a tiny bit ahead of where they seem to be). Adjust how you are leading a target according to how much lag there is.

One of my pet peeves is people being scared of flamers. If there's a flamer in the back of the stairs with a contant flame, don't huddle and wait for him to stop because he's probably not going to. What I do is sprint right into him and fire as much as I can. If you're close enough to him the combination of his own flames hitting him and your bullets shooting him will kill him 9 times out of 10 without you dying. (keep in mind I'm usually a medic) Just because he has fire, don't be afraid. At least you can disrupt the flame and take one for the team. I guess that's a good tip to get past flamers.
What I want is advice on how to get past venoms. If there's anything I hate it's venoms. You pretty much have NO chance of killing one when you have light weapons. They just kill you instantly. The only way I can kill them is by sneaking behing them or throwing a nicely timed nade.
Another tip: WATCH THE SKIES. Especially in the trenches. I know when I'm on Axis I like to goomba unsuspecting victims in the trenches. If you look up you can easily dodge...
Last tip: This might not be good for anyone else's style of playing but when my Thompson has say, 7 bullets left and I'm about to get the docs, I just drop it. There's a good chance that some other weapons are laying on the ground for you to pick up. The bad side to this is if there's no weapons around and a Lieutenant tries to give you ammo for nothing.
Well... that's all I've got for now...

A simple advise to all newbabies snipers, don´t show up all your body when firing from the snipr hill and change your position, you will be killed less times than others would like to.It is partcullary funny when aiming the sniper hill and see 3 or 4 snipers standing up tajking them out all of them.
Hmmm, let's see..... all pointers above are excellent....
I only usually play Medic so unfortunately the tactics I can offer are a little limited... First thing, when you are reviving and there is a pile of fallen teammates at your feet if possible try to revive the fallen medics on your team first.
When running short of ammo and the Lieutenants are not around, look on your compass and see where your teammates have fallen, if they have already tapped out, go to the spot in which they died, chances are their gun will still be there and you can go pick it up.
Always keep your gun reloaded so your clip is as full as possible. Even after firing only 4 or 5 shots I still reload, there is nothing worse than heading into battle and having to reload part way through a fight.
If there are alot of fallen teammates and alot of the enemy in the spot where you are reviving, while trying to revive your mates, stay using your needle rather than switching to gun, chances are you can make a few kills by stabbing the enemy in the butt using poison needle while you are scrambling on the floor reviving your friends.
After killing the enemy always gib him aswell so he can't get up again. This is especially important in critical places like the War room. I think you get 1 extra point anyway for gibbing someone... And it also stops them from "spying" while waiting for the revive.
Again, if you are short of ammo and the Lieutenants are busy or not responding, look for guns on the floor and just change yours for another. When I am on Axis, I always run down to the Basement or Lower Bunker, chances are that there will be a few Allies Thompsons lying about.
Hope that helps...

here is one, hide on the beach and wait for your team to win
a very succesfull tactic and most of the times i do win
a very succesfull tactic and most of the times i do win
i always sprint pretty much the whole game unless, i'm in the mood to sit back and hand out ammo, a good tip it to crouch and shoot, seem to have better accuracy..also meds.. use hot keys.. like 1 - 5 ... saves time switching threw weapons and nades to get health and needles, other than that always keep movin

i like Kakashi's point about flamers
when getting pinned down like that- take 1 for the team, get a few shots off, drop a nade
And Giggles makes gooood point about ammo-
drop and pickup weapons. drop panz and pickup a SMG while you're waiting for it to charge. it'll surprise the living shit out of the enemy
another BIG tip i have is: always watch your back
i get a ton of kills when I'm Axis b/c I walk right up behind the Allies while they're pushing towards the WR. All nice and bunched-up-like
MmmmmassMurder
and I don't usually have a problem w/ Venoms. Axis w/ a Venom at the top of stairs can SUCK but the Venom is inaccurate and slow so when engaged- keep moving until you can get close enogh to circle-strafe. Most of my venom kills end with a HS to the back of the melon b/c i'm circle-strafing so much faster
and yeah- slo day here

When in 1v1 battles, if you fire your whole clip and are still unsuccessful in killing them but you know they are almost dead, Switch to your pistol. Don't reload your mg during the duel, b/c chances are you'll lose. If you switch to pistol and fire 1 or 2 more shots, that leaves you plenty of time to reload.
Use your ammo wisely. If you're chasing someone through a door, don't just shoot to be shooting, wait until you see their body and fire. If you use your ammo wisely and accurately, 32 bullets can be 3 kills or more.
Also, aim for the head always. Walk around at head level so if you catch an enemy around a corner, you have the upper hand.
When dueling, DO NOT CROUCH. This is the biggest noob habit I see even with the better players. Why crouch when a person is standing in front of you. Instead, strafe back and forth keeping your cursor at head level. Once you get that headshot, start aiming for the chest a bit more. But don't crouch because that just makes you move slower and you are an easier target. Crouching is only useful if shooting a distance away.
Always get cover behind objects. When shooting up at the forward bunker, and trying to kill that axis on top, get behind a stone pillar and crouch and fire, don't just run up the open shooting inaccurate sprays of bullets.
For the Panzer
If you are shooting a shot and you know it will miss b/c you got shot at or just a bad aim, press the Pistol button or Drop Button and it will save your shot. Don't give up a valuable panzer shot for nothing.
That's about all I know:P well...that hasn't been already mentioned.

Good to see this kind of advice coming out. Unfortunately, most noobs won't know how to find the forums, let alone realize what a gem of experienced knowledge this thread will be for them.
Interesting differences in play. I liked what killer mike said about walking around with your marker always aimed at head-level. I try to do the same wherever I go. At the very least it lets me get one round off, often in the head, before coming under attack. Often it so startles an opponent--first from being hit almost exactly as being seen, 2ndly from the amount of damage already caused, that they try to run rather than fight. If they do fight, it's often a mad thrashing of bullets.
However, I have to disagree with Mikes point about crouching. I've lost quite a few fights against people who drop as soon as they know I'm going for the head. They pump half a dozen rounds into my belly as I hit the wall behind them. The red-blurring of vision when getting hit repeatedly and the enemies slight side-ways movement can make it tough to tag them in such a situation with any great accuracy.
On the other hand, I'm getting used to immediately doing a side-ways leap with a forward leap, quick spin and fire down on them. Mixed degrees of success depending on the skills of the opponent.
Venoms: Always zig-zag when possible if at long range. I used to fire back while doing it, but it's just a waste of ammo. Leap/zags, close range fast and then pummel a full clip into them. Even if I don't take them out before being shredded, they're hurting bad.
Flamers: Yeah, I hate seeing guys bunch up because they don't want to get their uniforms crisped. Inevitably the cluster of milling mates eats a nade. If you're first in line, charge the flamer. If you don't take him out, there won't be much left for the next guy to handle.
Nades are your friends. If you're a lieutenant /gp will give up a nade pac with 4 nades. Cost's 1/4 full bar. I give them to meds when I can--especially meds I know who will be trying for the docs. Or, if possible, a nade-pac to the obj carrier. No one's ever thanked me personally, but I'm sure they've come in handy. A nade landing in the air causes a bigger area of damage. I've taken out axis on the platform by the first stair AND the guys on the net above with one nade. It's a good feeling. I throw a lot of random nades. Not really effective, perhaps one kill in 5 thrown, but probably a lot of splash damage to others. There are certain trouble spots which, even if you can't see, beg to have a nade tossed into them.
Nades bounce. All the time I see people carefully lineing up their body on top of the stairs so they can drop it down the rails. No need. Throw it against the far wall at the right spot and it bounces back, straight down the stair-rails.
Headshot hint: I use a lazer mouse. When fireing long from a crouched position, I get greater accuracy by lifting the mouse off the pad (balancing it's edge on the side of my thumb). Perfect glide with no friction skips/jumps. This is especially devestating at range with the Sten. If you're a support player and not a objective rusher, try it out. You'll be amazed how many guys you drop when they are just a smudge on the far end of the map.

I like taking up as much space as I can in doorways and hallways. Why walk down the the left or right of a hallway when I can block many more of my guys by walking down the middle?
Also, if I hear "Objective taken" I stand around trying to blast the newly spawned losers coming out of the front bunker. On offense, if I hear this I stop at the foot of ever ladder, or in the middle of a door...trying not to contribute in any way to bringing the objective home.
Also, on the stairs I like to stop and look at the ceiling. Even if I have 13 guys behind me, I just stop and stand there like a complete fool.
In the ducts I like to wave my knife at the guy who got there 10 minutes before me because he'll know I'm stupid and eventually give me his primo spot.
Also, with the panzer, I like to use it all the time...have it out and ready so when one guy appears before me I can blast just him and myself. Also, having the big weapons out (venom, flamer, panzer) slows me down so that I don't get so dizzy when I start to pick up speed. This is even better when I have a bunch of my mates behind me all scrambling to get around me.
Stopping on ladders so I can shoot the concrete wall in front of me is effective, too. Screw the line of helpless team mates behind me.
In general I ignore the fact that there's anyone else besides me playing. I walk around like I'm an old lady in the mall, stopping everywhere I can to block, stare, ogle, drool and just be a completely annoying jack-ass.
