Cool demos

Postby Lord ZOG » Thu Jan 02, 2003 9:22 pm

I finally caught Cow in the act of Goomba'ing.

Download the demo here

To play is, place the file in your C:\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\Main\Demos folder.

DStart the game, bring down your console and type;

/demo cow1.dm_60

Sit back and enjoy. Don't touch or do anything while the demo is playing, because you'll have to start all over again.

Cow's goomba is at the very end of the demo....so blame him for the length of the demo!! :P

Way to go Cow!

That first demo I recorded while I was in Spectator mode, and unfortunately the whole time the damn Score Screen was in the way. You can still see Cow in all his glory, but it's behind the score sheet.

here's a 1st person perspective of Cow's Goomba skills

Download it here .

Try that one for size. See above for directions on viewing.

Demos

Postby Lord ZOG » Fri Jan 03, 2003 9:44 pm

Make sure the demo is in the proper directory...

C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\Main\demos

Keep in mind this is the default path. If you installed it somewhere else, then you should be able to figure out the proper directory.

Then, from within the game's console type;

\demo cow2.dm_60 <Enter>

Hello there,
Please can someone tell me how to make your own demo, only I'd like to but I haven't the slightest idea how to do it? If someone could be kind enough to tell me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Giggles.:confused:

To start recording a demo type /record demoname in the console, to stop it type /stoprecord.

Type /demo demoname to play the demo

I think to record a demo, you also need to set g_synchronousclients to 1. I have no idea what this does but I use a script I found on the net:

// Demo Recording Script - Starts and stops a demo recording

set demostart "g_synchronousclients 1; record; g_synchronousclients 0; set demotoggle vstr demostop; echo Recording demo..."
set demostop "stoprecord; set demotoggle vstr demostart; echo Demo recording stopped."
set demotoggle "vstr demostart"
bind KP_ENTER "vstr demotoggle"

So demo recording can be toggled with a single key and get automatically named to demo0000, demo0001, etc...

Your right Herr Renz I read the read me and it says dm_58 and dm_59 demo files ! install the program then right click on "your demo".dm_60 and a menu will appear select "open with" and another menu with all the registered program will appear scroll down and find WDP and check always open with this program .This should register yor dm_60 demos to WDP
The RTCW logo icon should appear on the demo! This should work ! It worked for me
