Last Monday we reported on a story about a big mod coming to ET. Many people believe it is a hoax. I sent an email to the guy who submitted the news and below is his reply:
"We are releasing an beta probaly in 3 weeks. We want to reasure every gamer on your great site that this is not an hoax, we have been working very hard and put in an LOT of money in computers, programmers etc.
And no we do not have the source code from activision, what we are doing is going into the orginial RTCW and ET source codes and taking them out and useing them. For instance, the tank u see on fueldump, well now we changed it into an camfologed tank, by using textures from the RTCW files.
We will send in 5 NEW screenshots next monday while we finish up Section 5 out of Section 10."
The mod sounds completely different than what they described earlier. If they are simply changing textures then any person can easily do that. I personally doubt they can do much else without the proper source code from Activision
can't wait to see the screens
