Postby BubbaGump » Wed Dec 10, 2003 9:58 pm

I need a new monitor , do LCD screens work good with games? Does any one use one? Do I need to stick wih CRT?

there are already a lot of threads on this topic already, but basically you want something around 20ms response time. 16 ms is the preferable choice

whats so much better about LCDs besides the compact size? I never caught on to that.

i think compact size is the only reason some people like it better.

it's more expensive and the quality isn't allways so good as a normal screen.

but you have to admit it looks cool a lcd screen on your desk

It's more than looking cool. For games it's ok, but for desktop using (surfing the web and such) the difference is AMAZING. I will never, ever in my life use a CRT to browse the internet. The clarity and crispness on an LCD is second to none, and it's easier on the eyes.

I have a CRT for games, and an LCD for everything else.

LCD's have much lower 'response times' or refresh rates than CRT's.

That's actually one of the cons about LCD's.

unless you were being sarcastic, I can't tell :)
