punkbuster.

Postby SilverSurfer » Mon Dec 15, 2003 8:39 am

oke this new feature of the ecgn beach server is killing my fps bad.
even when there are 20 players on it it still sucks big time.

and i do have a very good computer. but the new updates for pb are just a pain in the ass. i know its supposed to catch cheaters but the only thing it does is kick people that have a wrong punkbuster version.

what do you guys think of it and
do you have problems with punkbuster being on.

i did.. till i upgraded my ram. it used to nail my fps. i thought it was a conflict with another program, but it was a ram issue. also on the pb webpage there is some trouble shooting guides that will help. try /pb_security 0 and /pb_sleep 500, in console, when u are connected and see if that helps any

i run ET and regualr wolf with 256ram, but im using some of my X-mas money on a 512 chip in a few days. My game runs smoothly on ET i don't see why you need 512 S.S. N

that depends also on the Resolution you are using, but Et maps are basically bigger than RTCW maps and even more complex in design and arquitecture so that a good amount of RAM helps a lot handling thoses levels.
I use 1 Ghz RAM and everything runs very good
