ECGN Beach Attendance

Postby Lord ZOG » Sun Jan 11, 2004 11:27 am

If anyone has any questions about the dwindling ECGN Beach attendance, I suggest you look at the stats page.

I remember when ECGN used to have the largest chunk of the pie when it came to attendance. Now, Kojin seems to have taken over.

I've never visited Kojin. What's different (if anything) about their server that we could apply to the ECGN server?

As much as I've gravitated towards ET, I still think Wolf is both fun and action-packed and I don't want to see ECGN's Wolf server rot on the vine.

That pie comes from the ingame stats, when those stats are reset the players count returns to 0. That server probably hasnt had stats reset in a while.

Ahhh. OK.

Still, people have been mentioning the smaller crowds there. I wish there was a way to definitively prove this.

One of the BF guys mentioned the reason he stopped playing Wolf was because of the stagnant nature of the ECGN Wolf server.

I just would like to see things freshened up there.

The quality of the 2 dont even compare (ecgn being far superior) as far as game play and generally better players, the only issue as of late would be a terrible lag that sometimes needs 10 mins, in my case anyway, to pass, ive seen MANY complain and leave because of this, PB?

Im not sure I could be wrong but Kojin stats look corrupt to me. Some players killing others around 105264 times and having deaths by one player at 68400 times. Also playing time for some is in the thousands of days, like one 12638 days played. Heres the link for one example, many of the stats are like this. I noticed it before but wasnt sure if I should mention it.

http://stats.ecgnetwork.com/player.php?key=17&guid=1258598AF46418F74EA446C1472476F4

Another reason for such low numbers is stats were off for about a week after they had only been on for about a week and a half.

Ah, oh, eh! one question about stats...

Can the stats have the number of victories (how allied carrier) of each player? And the number of times that each one played on each side?

PS: Sure u dont understand nothing.

For spanish guys :P

Podrían ponerse en las estadísticas el número de victorias (como aliado con los papeles) de cada jugador, así como el número de partidas jugada en cada bando.

PS: Seguro que esto si que lo habeis entendido.

I was the one who mentioned the stagnant thing... I stopped playing there a while ago, but here are some suggestions...

- A map rotation... these can be custom maps, regular maps, whatever, just get some variety in there so people aren't seeing the same scenery all of the time...

- Don't know if this is done or not, but tell more people who play there about the forums, and get them interested in that... easier said than done, of course...

- Possibly change the name from 24/7 beach to ECGN 64 Player Madness or something like that... change it around to get people interested and talking about it...

- Do some crazy shit every once in a while... knife fights, pistol wars, grenade ring toss, something.... have some fun every once in a while... admins can change these settings in shrub for a while, can't they?

- Get some people together and scrim with some clans... publicize it ahead of time and then pick some players and password the server... people have to have been involved in the community to know the password... you say you have some good players, well this is how you figure out where you stand...

These are just ideas off the top of my head, something to perhaps inspire others... good luck with your mission of increasing interest :)

me personally zog I think that its losing people because of the orginal no more air strikes, and yes beach gets old after about 3 games, I think that to increase the "business" we as regulars need to requests, a lower medic bar (that was orginally set for the a/s havoc), more lt bar, and a more fun enviroment with maps, whatever only ect. Just my 3 cents

Rule I like the idea of having all the clan regulars(and non-clan regulars) of this server combine as one and represent ECGN in a scrimmage. There is so much talent in the server it would be a great match up against a clan, especially having clans like {NNC}, <BD>, S.S., etc join as one. We are trying to raise lt charge, lower medic charge, limit mausers to 4, and have a map rotation. I already sent my email in, we just need others on the server to do the same and get them on the forums, I think instead of having the stats link in the loading screen we put the forums link there, and put a sticky of the link for stats in the RTCW section.

these are all good ideas but because the server has been beach for a very long time only people get on it that want no map changes. they want a regular beach server.

some of the people in here want a map rotation but there are more stupid noobs that prefer to be killed on the same spot over and over.

only thing i can say is that mmmmgood or someone else that has rcon or server acces. have to put the server on a rotation without a poll. and leave it on for a while. then you will get people in that like rotations and other stuff

The reason konij has more players is cause after stats reset the bots went down for like 2 weeks in ecgn 24/7 and kept working everywhere else. I have been watching that and the ecgn player numbers is rising very quickly! Its just the stupid bots fault. Ecgn 24/7 beach is still the shiznit!

i think people would still come if the maps rotated. I come mainly for the people and familiar names, i'm sure other regulars feel the same. I played other ongoing places, but for some reason none ever seemed as inviting as 24/7. It's kinda like a huge family that shoots each other all the time, Yee-ha ShitNutz.

P.S. Don't lower the med bar pleeeeeeeeeeeease :(
