I've been playing BF (DC mainly) and HL (mostly the mods) and was curious about the RTCW gameplay. Just picked up the Patinum Edition with ET (played that regulary) and was wondering what kind of patches I am looking at. Also, my only question is "does RTCW play like ET?" ET was fun but not that enjoyable (maybe because I got tired of the four or five standard maps)

Also--Can I get the IP for ECGN's server.

there are over 200 custom maps for et. just connect to the shit-storm servers and you will auto download them.

you have to download a patch for rtcw.

i think you need to patch up to 1.4 but it could be something higher. its been a while since i downloaded a patch for rtcw

Thanks guys. See you on later then. There is a 1.4 and a new 1.41 update patch. NP. Everytime I tried DL new maps from the ingame on ET they always timed out even on a DSL connection (1.5 down) I have ASE now so I'll look for the shit-storm servers by name and hopefully I'll be able to play other maps more routinely. Before I need to ask later. What is the directory tree to install map packs and etc. What folder do they need to end up in.

I enjoy someone who likes to revert back to old timy but great games:lol: . RTCW is your best choice ever

Now for Information:

1.)Download ET and RTCW custom maps at This site

That way you don't have to worry about in-game download timeouts.

2.)All files will need to be placed in your "C: Program Files/Return to Castle Wolfenstein/Main" folder.

3.)Download this great Utility so you can find several of your Wolf buddies and other great servers. Download this for Pathfinder

4.)Download OSP mod. Very Important Mod for competitive type RTCW. Dowload this after you've succesful installed the 1.4 patch.OSP Mod

.)Other suggestible servers you may be interested in:

207.44.130.64:27960 (Great One Life to Live Server. With nice little extra choices. Alot of maps)

208.185.30.202:27960 (Great Competitive Server. Stay away if your too new for this type of gaming.)

69.12.70.211:27960 (Another Great Competitive Server.

)

204.157.6.161:27960 (S.S. Shipwreck's Server. Great group of guys from ECGN run this one)

yes its a known bug that et times out afther downloading a custom map. just restart the game and join the server and everything will be just fine.

Make sure you grab the updates, and the goty map pack now that its running a rotation. Glad to see you are gonna play some Wolf with us.
