Occasional Friendly Fire
Any thoughts about occasionally turning on 'Friendly Fire'?
I have seen people blocking the dorrways, and doing some really stupid things. I have even had my own team members jump in front of me just as I was about to make a kill on the documents (I use a venom), and that caused us to lose. This has happened more than once.
Someone complained about too many LTs, and too many venoms. Occasional Friendly Fire would limit how they are used. I know that I might not open up with a venom if I might take out 4-5 teammates to get 1 of the other side (unless it was to block the documents).
Hmmm, I can toss a grenade and it wont hurt my teammates? Not with Friendly Fire.
The only downside may be some idiots/newbies that use teammates for target practice. But, once they are identified, they can be dealt with too.

I don't think anyone has complained about too many LTs, but anyways.
Friendly Fire has been done before, like for a couple hours one day. It was rather funny.
My opinion is try Friendly Fire again for a week and see what people think. But, if you do have FF on then make a limit of how many TKs you can have before you get kicked.

wow the war room would be insane with ff on. So many people shooting at 1 time would be interesting, you may have to give us some more lives if you do that...lotsa team kills would happen for sure...them panzer whores would have to be a little more careful eh??

You're right. Insane in a good way though. I've tried to get admins the ability to turn it on for late night matches (sometimes) and the rare day time match. Seems to be there is either not enough interest or unwillingness to do that from the higher ups.
damn it give one of the late guys the power. i play mostly at uhh day... night... in my sleep..... day dreamin. lol! that would be awsome to have someone with the ability to do that for us late nighters. maybe even change maps for us. i know on this one server whoever made most kills or points would get to pick a different map and stuff made it real fun and everyone played better. just some thoughts!

FF made ME become a lot more aware of what was going on in the game. It wasn't funny at the time but ....
When I first started playing, I was on another beach server as an Allied LT. One where FF and airstrikes were enabled. There was less than a minute to go. I was standing on the beach, and I decided to call in a strike on the Axis upper level. I wanted to clear out the area between the back stairs and the door to the upper bunker/radio room.
As soon as I called for a strike, and got the "firing for effect" confirmation, I watched as my teammate -- with the documents in hand -- came running out into the open, near the back stairs doorway, on his way to victory.
He never made it. The other side won. And I have not been back to that server.
Now, I am very careful to note when the docs are taken/restored. I look for comments that docs are going short/long. I try to give info to my teammates (and hope that some are paying attention).

Now I know that none of you have messed up that badly ... right?

Beach attracts a lot of n00bs....like it or lump it. B/n them and our fair collection of malcontents the Beach would come to a stand-still for a few weeks.
After that...who knows? On other servers I've noticed one of the nastier tricks, something that avoids getting you auto-kicked for tk'ing, is takeing someone down to 40 health...
I'd like to try it once a week or something...but then that would probably be aggravating for Boc to keep on top of, so I dunno...

Turning team kiling on is the worst idea in the history of abd ideas. Team killing workis on the smaller servers because the emphasis shfits to precision but with 64 people you won't even make it to the axis burker without el noobio zapping you in the back with a subsonic slice of faust. Beach is sweet just as it is.
