After 5 years of playing on this server, I finally get banned for hacking...

I was banned by one of those admins that obviously still struggle with the controls of this game (not meaning this as an insult--she probably became admin because of personality/maturity/etc). But my point is, server needs more admins that are actually good at this game, so they can spot a legit player from a hacker. Maybe Joker and Twitch...they are both good players, seem to play alot, and won't ban people just cuz they rack up the kills.

You can see my awesome groin-raging skills, west-coast ping lagginess, and suicide nades. Pretty mediocre playing, pretty mediocre rounds...yet banned for hacking. Weird.

in my experience its just best to not use aliases if you are gonna go in and play well. I know it shouldnt matter but it does. anybody that seems like a stranger that shoots well will automatically have the entire server bitching about hacks in no time. thats just what i notice, im not telling you what to do.

LoL you play with a new alias everyday becasue you don't want anyone to know who you are unless you tell them and lets be honest you are doing that becasue getting people to call you a hacker is funny as hell; these threads where you act like you guys act like you didn't know that's what you are doing always give me a chuckle.

It's sad perhaps that admins are now so suspicious but we really didn't start the trend. You arrive on the server and it's literally seconds before the pms start rolling in about how player x is hacking and wtf are we doing letting them play. You admins don't care and blah blah blah. It's sad but it's been true for a long time that if people don't know who you are or that you used to be in x clan that won twl in whatever year then they assume you are a hacker.

As it goes the admin who banned you posted the demo on the admin forums already for us to review so it wasn't just a fire from the hip ban. It's pretty much common practice for admins to ban anyone who they consider to be suspect and then submit demos for confirmation or denial. It's worth doing that way despite the fact that innocents get banned as well allbeit briefly because otherwise people tend to disappear back into the mists and players who may only use a particular key once may never get caught again.

I don't play under alias because of hacking accusations...I play under alias because most times I just want to play the game without talking to people. When I think one alias is getting too recognizable, then I switch.

And the admin knew who I was...she had looked up my GUID, knew my aliases, and had /pm'ed me. Seems like one of the first steps to take while looking into hacking accusations is to look up that person's GUID.

Maybe the solution is to color my name and make it l33t sounding


Anyways, at least the demo is posted and being looked into....

I don't see where people could think you were cheating in that video.

You had to have edited out some incriminating evidence. The admins on the server do it out of love for the game and the server. They just want to keep it clean and for it to be a fun place to play.

I see that Smudge was accusng you of hacking and so was Digger. I am going to go on record here...Smudge never accuses people of hacking unless he is damn sure of it! I am not sure who Digger is. He sounds like a fine upstanding community member though. I also don't know what that pm Superpuzzy was sending you means. Perhaps some secret code? I am sure it was very important though and should not have been ignored by you. Maybe you were playing with your hacking alt+tab interface and didn't see it...hmmm?

Frankly, I am a bit surprised that you of all people would be cheating at this game. Shame on you and all of your ilk.

think abaot the position you put the admin in, they either have to piss off the entire server or the guy who refuses to use his known name. pretty easy choice really.
