Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

This has been in talks for about a 5-8 years already. Last I heard was they were gonna try and get Arnold Shwartzanegger for it.

I doubt we'll see if within the next few years. Maybe four or so down the line, though. Even with the release of Doom 3 they'll wait a bit before beginning to film.

I hope the movie isn't a mindless zombie shooter. Resident Evil was bad enough with that concept...

it needs to be intelligent, as in have a deep story. I know that may be difficult because the game is a mindless shooter, but that sort of thing has been WAY overdone.

If they want to prevent the movie from being a mindless shooter, they should follow a different story than the one of the game. Now I havent exactly played Doom3 yet, but I dont exaclty expect a thick plot when I do get my hands on it.

What about a story on how the gates got opened? Or maybe a story on a Barneyesque security guard trying to escape? Anything would be better than a live action walkthrough of the game.

A movie about Doom... A guy killing zombies, what a story. I'm sure it would make a lot of money though.
