amd 64 mobo

Postby hitznrunz » Fri Apr 22, 2005 5:51 am

i just bought a Biostar NF325-A7 motherboard and i have yet to recieve it. I was under the impression that all 64 boards support hypertransport technology the 1600mhz fsb. I went on their website and can't even find the cpu support list for this mobo. I was told that it goes up to amd 64 3700...anyone have any information? im waiting to buy the cpu.

That is a socket 754 board. Make sure you pick an AMD 64 CPU that is 754. I looked on newegg and the fastest 754 they have is the 3700+. I would look at the 3400+ or 3700+ if I were you.

I have a XP 2800+ also. Let me know how much better performance you get in gaming. I was looking at the futuremark ORB to compare scores. I did two searches, both using the 6800GT as the video card but it one search selected the AMD XP processor and in the other selected the AMD 64 processor. There were really big differences in the benchmark scores between those two processors. I don't put a lot of weight in the 3dMark benchmarks but it does say something.

I think you will notice a performance jump.

I don't know how valid this is but it is interesting. Compare your 2800+ to the 3700+
