Me and a co worker on the way back from Muscatine IOWA to Sch. Both of us had to be home by 6:30 as the wives had plans and we had to get to the kids. We leave Musc at 3:12 pm and I am flyin down 88, doing 90+ sometimes 100+ in the work van. We are on pace for about 5:45 arrival time in SCH so lookin good. Next thing I know, an unmarked car with the flashers on behind me, and we were trying to be careful and look around but totally missed him. sh*t sh*t

Had the license and INS card ready, window down. Before he said a word I kind of hung my head and said "You got me, totally got me, I would appreciate any leniency you could give me as I have not had a ticket in over 10 years. Me and my buddy are driving from IOWA to SCH and have to be home by 6" he asked how fast I was going, kind of smirked and said "ummm at least 80", he replied "it took me 5 miles to catch you and I was hitting 100 a couple times, I think you were going faster than that", again I just kind of hung my head and said " I apologize I normally dont speed as my clean record will attest but i was trying to make up time, I won't try and lie to you or be mean, you got me" He asked a couple more basic questions about who we were, what is all the computer stuff int he back etc..... where we were coming from, where we were going, who do we work for then said "I'll be back" and walked back to his car.

So i figured I'm screwed, 5 mins later he comes back YIPPEE!!!! Warning only, asked me to slow down and as promised i didnt do over 70 the rest of the way, (not that he would have known but hey a deal is a deal)

Haha. That is sweet.

I got pulled over twice on my birthday. It's on New Years Day, so we were heading to go skiing, and about 2 miles away from home, I got caught going 47 in a 30. He asked where I was headed, blah blah...told him goign skiing for my b-day, and he just told me to slow down or I won't make it there.

Then, on the way back from the ski trip, it was 6 a.m. or so (went midnight skiing btw), and I was a little tired, and didn't feel like staying on the far rightside on the road since it was pretty much outdoor country roads with no traffic. Well, the lights came on and I got pulled over again. This time, the guy was like, you were going 65 in a 55 (plz...), and asked if I had anything to drink, blah blah blah. I told him no, and then he asked how old I was, and I'm like "I'm 18 today sir." He goes "Well then, Happy birthday." He didn't even go back to the car.

Woot, dodged two bullets in one day.

Took me 16 years before i got my first ticket and i cried like a baby. I was doing 89 in a 55 on my way up I-5 to Wa. from Ca. and got nailed in Or. but it was only $125.00. Then a month later got busted for doing 35 which was the speed limit, but it was during school hours and in a school zone that made it 20. But it wasn't posted on the street i pulled out from. It was a bunch of crap. Judge would of dropped it but he couldn't because of some congress crap or something. Then i got a ticket for running a stop sign or pulling a california stop as i like to call it. I saw the lights to my left and figured im 2 blocks from my parents lets run for it. So i hauled to my moms got out of the car and he got me. Then to make it worse since this is my 3rd damn ticket in a few months, my parents pull out the camera and start taking pictures and pointing and laughing at me. Did you know you are suppose to count to 4 when you stop at a stop sign for it to be considered a legal stop? Such shit.

i was driving with my dad one day and we where just flying along minding our own buisness doing about 160-180kph im my moms new mustang, come around a corner and shit god damn, a ficking cops standing in the middle of the road about a half click down the road. there must have been another 5-6 other poor bastards already on the side of the road all getting tickets. so i see this guy and have to slam on my brakes to not mow him down, i don't think he had any idea how fast i was going because i don'w think he would have been out there if he had. i think he might have shit himself though when i came skreeching to a stop feet away from him. now to the really painfull part....i think they clocked us at 178 or so coming around the corner in a 80 zone, $370 dollars for that (big supprise). neither of us had our seatbelts on (god my mom was pissed) another $300........ I almost cried like a baby that day, lol. i think the only good part of that was all the cops drooling over that car, and you could just tell that they actually respected the fact that i was driving it like the proformace machine it is. i could almost see the poor cop cringe as he handed me the ticket like he thought he was insulting the car gods or something. all in all it was a good day, as soon as i was outa site it was back up to 180 and the music was just as loud as it was before.

in PA.....I can fight the ticket, I always plee not guilty, goes to the judge, I tell him I'm always on the road, need my license for my job, judge lets me off with a fine, but no points on my license, I have won at least 12 cases so far, my insurance is super cheap now lol

I am really suprised you didn't do jail time, Ouch. Seems to me that would be called reckless driving and alot more. I think 25 mph over the speed limit is reckless driving. Oh and you're a DUMBASS for not wearing a seatbelt going that fast.:)

yeah i guess they thought that almost 700 bucks was punishment enough. im pretty sure that it said exsesive speed on the ticket, not sure what you have to do to get the reckless driving. and i think that we have less strickt laws up here in Canada about it maby.

yes i was a huge dumbass for not wearing my seatbelt, learnt my lesson though and now the first thing i do when i get into a car is put my seetbelt on and make sure everyone else does too.

yeah seatbelts are huge... always put em on

I think 90% of cops are good guys who appreciate kindness and honesty and will respond in kind. I mean if you are speeding you deserve a ticket if busted, if no tickets were issued, everyone would drive like a maniac on every street which is not safe.

I was busted and deserved a ticket and wasn't gonna argue 1 bit cuz I was totally in the wrong. But I got lucky and the cop responded to my attitude with a like kind attitude. You catch more bees with honey................

never gotten a moving violation ticket (knocks on wood). i do use a cop detector, which has helped me many times. my 96' skylark bogs down at 105 mph, so i can't go super fast anyway. i've heard 3 seconds on the stop sign thing and here in AL it's 15 mph over the speed limit for wreckless driving.
