Logitech = PURE CRAP!!!

Wed Aug 04, 2004 3:26 am

OK, this really pisses me off. This is the second extreme 3d pro stick i've had in the last 4 months, and it is just killing me. The twist action is now almost non-existent, or it just twitches to full activation if you touch it...

Touching the x axis can have the same effect, you'll be flying along, and WHOOPS! 90degree roll with no warning!

I've taken it apart and tweaked the potentiometers twice, like crazybri told me about, and it worked for a while, but I'm really F^&*ING sick of messing with the stupid thing.

Since M$ stopped making sticks, what's the alternatives out there? Find an old M$ one off ebay? I guess maybe... Saitek is coming out with one in the fall that looks cool, but I don't wanna be stuck with this POS until then

So, in short DO NOT BUY LOGITECH! They make cheap garbage that will fail on you in 1-2 months. Hate to say it, buy I've never had a prob with any of microsoft's stuff, from mice to kb's to whatever else... (OS's is another story :( ) I will not be buying ANYTHING logitech ever again!

If anyone can track down some good alternative sticks on the market that ARE NOT LOGITECH, post here :)

My MX700 died too early, I only had it for maybe 9 monthes till it just started giving me skipping in games.

Yea, my sidewinder is 2+ years old and still works like the day it came out of the box.

the name seems fitting for rule

i have the cheap model but i've used an older version of the top of the line stick and it's awesome aside from the overwhelming number of controls. then again, i'm not a pilot ;)

yes i had 2 logitech joysticks that went to crap. I bought a MS sidewinder and it has been great. Too bad MS stopped making joysticks.

Now boys... I currently use the Logi 2.4 g cordless and before that the logi 3dpro which is still in good shape.

Just gotta be alittle more gentle with the stick, boy.

Quit throwing them against the walls when you get 'pwned' by myself and others [HOT]'es!!! ;) :P

my extreme 3d pro went to crap but ive never had trouble with anything else logitech so i might give the 2.4g a shot. the only reason i dont like ms sticks is that they dont have enough friggen buttons. the 2.4 has 10 and thats exactly what i need. ill try being gentler with this one but if it shits the bed ill definatly step away from logitech and start sending them hate mail.

i have had a few Logitech sticks...and they do were out...
My solution buy from Walmart and when they take a Sh*t take them back and exchange for a new one...nop questions asked.

Residue: I saw a site that rated that fox 2 pro stick pretty highly... :)

Harry: I really have treated the stick pretty well, all kidding aside. I don't throw it around, i'm pretty easy on the sudden movements (unless someone surprises me :D ) I really haven't misused it at all. It just starts going out of calibration, and won't come back.

Yadad: I've already done it once, but i'm really sick of having to fix it every 6 weeks or so... i'll probably do it again until this new one comes out tho... http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/x52.htm

More links people! :)

Wrist, I hve the same problem with mine, right rudder just doesn't work anymore. I bought mine in December and it went by March. As far as other Logitech products I have been satisfied with everything, includeind the headset for the PS2. Please keep us posted when you purchase a new one.

We all know that this post is here so when you get owned by one if us you can blame it on your joystick :)

Rule, I have the Saitek X45 and it's by far the best joystick I've ever had. It has plenty of buttons that you can program to your liking w/the software that comes with it. I can fly a 747 in MS FlightSim2004 cross-country without ever touching the keyboard. I love the little safety latch on top that you can flip up and fire your "super weapon":P.
