Yes, Pats are my second favorite team behind the eagles, im hoping for the Pats-Eagles superbowl. A good chance for it to happened, as long as both teams stay relatively healthy.

Tom Brady is the Man!
Way back when Bledsoe first got knocked out, I though Brady was just a mediocre scrub (I hadn't seen him play through most of the season cuz I was on the road at the time)
I was just focused on his stats, which at the time were good, but not flashy or overwhelming, ala Bledsoe, Marino, etc.
Once, I saw him play though, I finally got it. He just doesn't screw up, almost ever. He doesn't blow the big one like Bledsoe does. I used to love Bledsoe, but I was always holding my breath everytime he threw it. Now, I don't sweat it, even when Brady is throwing out of his own endzone. You just know he'll get them out of there with no catastrophes. He doesn't always throw for 400 yards, but he almost never hurts the team, especially in tight situation. He does his job and keeps the ball safe.

Yes and he makes the defense more effective because he rarely turns the ball over, and forces the other team to rarely get good field position. Marching all the way down the field on the Patriots Defense is easier said that done.

It was late 4th quarter, the Texans were up by 7, less than a minute left and over 70,000 fans going crazy including myself. Brady drives the Pats to a game tying TD by connecting on numerous 3rd downs including a 4th and long. The Pats won in OT. He's everything you want in a quarterback.

Blah Blah Blah Brady, Blah Blah Blah Brady.
Dude is a slightly above average QB at best. Sure he's won games and even been a part of the team that won 2 Superbowls but it is the team and not Brady that win them. If you watched tonights game 2 things really stood out.
1: The Colts couldn't stop a leaky drain and
2: Watch a review of the game and see how many times the Patriots used a max protection package of 7 men (5 lineman and 2 tight ends) so that Brady had the actual TIME to make his throws.
On the plays that didn't use 7 men on the line it was misdirection plays that properly utilized strategy from the coaching staff.
Brady is a good QB but he isn't anything special. He is the benificiary of a well organized, and well coached TEAM.
Brady's one good strength (so far) is that he recognizes he is part of a team and not THE TEAM. As long as he keeps this frame of mind he will continue to be succesful in the NFL. He starts getting cocky and demands Peyton Manning type money when his contract is up see how fast Piola and Belichek ship him off.
Enjoy this season Patriots fans you have a HUGELY cream puff schedule against weak teams. Hell you don't even face a real opponent until week 12. Talk smack to me when your team soundly defeats the Ravens "D".
You also have the added benifit of one of the least talked about, and most important factors, that made the 80-90 49'ers so sucessful. What an incredibly weak division.
I'm not bashing the Pats, they are a good team and will do very well this year but don't get all high and mighty because you are winning in bad year for your division and play weak opponents.
In that 13 or so year run in the 80's and 90's when the NFC won all the Superbowls it was split between 2 divisions. NFC west with SF and all the rest were in the NFC east. Cowboys(3), Giants(2) and Redskins(3). Just to get to the Superbowl they had to defeat the best teams in football WHICH WERE IN THEIR OWN DIVISION.
Dynasty whatever.., winning games in a weak divsion with a mostly creampuff schedule doesn't impress.

Look at the organization of the Pats over the past 4-5 years.
They are incredibly ruthless concerning players and their futures with the organization and do so with good reason. Witness how they have won 2 of the past 3 Superbowls.
The Patriots organization is its greatest strength and they will get rid of anything that doesn't improve that.
Be a homer all you want but refrain from talking shit until you play a real defense. And I don't see that happening until Week 12. If you lose a game before then you should start worrying.
Now go back and cheer for your Bosox. The seasons not over yet and you still have plenty of games to be frustrated and dissapointed.

The Colts defense surrendered on average 299 yards per game and 21 points per game last year. That's about the 20th ranked defense. Not great, but not horrible. Try duct tape on that leaky drain of yours.
By the same token, wouldn't this give him less receivers to which to throw? And doesn't this mean he is less likely to have a receiver with single coverage? And don't other teams more easily recognize this max protection scheme in calling their defensive schemes?

Five of the ten non-division games are aginst playoff teams from last year, correct? And if your argument is based solely on defenses, aren't the Bills projected to be a top #10 defense? And haven't the Dolphins historically been one of the top defenses in the NFL?
The Colts, who made the AFC championship game last year, were not a real opponent, yet the Ravens, who were I beleive the lowest ranked division winner to make the playoffs last year, and lost right away to the Titans are a real opponent?
Weak divison yes, but an "incredibly" weak division? If you want an incredibly weak division, try the Ravens. And 10 of the 16 games are non-divison teams, correct?

It is tough to recognize what amount of the credit should go to the QB, to other players, and to the coaching staff unless you really dissect every play on the level that coaches do. I go by the opinions of the people close to the NFL & the Patriots. There are alot of these people that give Tom Brady all the credit in the world.
