For when Big Brother Government decides to evoke martial law and threatens it's citizens with dictatorship. We can fight back.
Or at least that's the thinking.
People also collect these guns, use them for sporting/shooting competitions.

This was a sarcastic post. I'll all about the second amendment but I don't see any need for anyone to have an automatic rifle with a 90 round mag loaded with armor piercing rounds.
When I see a 12 point Buck out there layered in Kevlar with twins .50's mounted on his antlers maybe then. But not for now.

For most that get fired up over this it's about giving an inch. They feel if the government takes the AK then the 22 isn't far behind.
