GD windows

Sun Oct 03, 2004 7:18 pm

back before I upgraded to XP I burned an MP3 cd of all my MP3s, well now I try to use it and it says the phucking cd is blank, and makes clicking noises.

I pop it into the dvd player and it says all the mp3s are there, does anyone know why windows is being a bitch to me?

How did you burn them to the CD?

I used nero burning rom, and made an "mp3 cd"

It worked before perfectly, after I installed XP, could it be because I changed my HDD over to dynamic?

Dynamic?

From basic to dynamic, it lets you change partition sizes and use the built in software raid that comes with it (with XP pro and above I think, win2k server also), I made my HDD dynamic so I can change partition sizes on the fly.

The thing I circled in red is where you see where it iether says basic or dynamic, you right click there and select convert to dynamic, you cannot have a dual boot with a dynamic disk, but you can undo it I think (unlike most MS things)

The thing I circled in frosty blue is where I had a partition I was using and decided I needed it bigger for one reason or anouther, so I changed it to dynamic and added 1024MB to it :).

THe thing I did not circle which was F was a logical partition under the basic disk format and I used all the space under that and formed an exteneded partition. Since I made it dynamic, there are no "logical" drives, only primaries I think, which means I can change it as I would the other, but note you cannot add or remove from the system partition (ussually C:) under dynamic.

Is it the same drive you burned the CD with? Some CDs / burners have a hard time reading burned CDs from other burners, depending on what options you chose when you burned it.

Sad but true (and extremely frustrating).
