New 802.16 WIMAX Wireless Update!

Bit of a heavy read, but interesting. This new wireless standard will allow: "A single WiMax transmitter will transmit voice, video, and data signals across distances of up to 50 kilometers (assuming an unobstructed line of sight) at rates as high as 70 megabits per second". Basically you can lose you land line, and go completely wireless within 50 Kilometers of the source at around T1 speeds.
