Marino was a real heartbreaker, when he lost that Superbowl in first or second season, we all thought 'no big deal, this guy is going to go to plenty of Superbowls over his career'
It's a scary thought, I hope it doesn't happen to Manning. In this day of salary cap, free agents, etc; it takes so much LUCK to go to the Superbowl. I'm not saying my beloved Pats aren't a great team, but going to the SB is like winning the lottery, all the stars have to line up. So far, Manning kinda resembles Marino, something always seems to get in his way.

I wasn't even born yet to witness his first and only SB appearance but I do remember all I heard about Marino during the latter part of his career was how he couldn't win the big one like John Elway was able to accomplish in the last years of his career.

I wouldn't mind if Peyton didn't win a SB being that the Colts are in the same division as my hometown team.
