Pirates! screens

Sun Dec 05, 2004 3:57 pm

If anyone's interested, I've already gotten this game, and I think it's great. It was enough to pull me away from HL2 for a week! :)

Here's a few random screens of mine...

Me sailing my fleet toward the Dutch city of Curacao
Image

Spotting a Spanish Trade Galleon off Madrid Nuevo
Image

Choosing the ship I want to engage (I'm using my trusty flagship, the Carolina del Norte, a 32-gun Brig of War)
Image

Launching a broadside at the Pamplona - she surrendered without a fight
Image

Returning to the Spanish city of Puerto Cabello to repair and speak with the governor (he wasn't too pleased I took a Spanish ship right off his shores)
Image

The governor's daughter in Puerto Cabello - she looks exactly like my beautiful wife in Santiago.
Image

Swordfighting with the evil Baron Raymondo - he holds all the secrets of where my family members are hidden. He generally sails a 30-gun War Galleon - a tough fight, but no match for the Carolina del Norte.
Image

And this is me dancing with my wife - it's not as hard as it seems at first, once you get used to the way it works. Just follow her directions, and try to keep the time (it's either a 1-2-3 beat or a 1-2-3-4 beat).

OMG!!! Okay, scrounge up about $50 and go to eBay to get a Commodore64 and get the game. Or, check for an emulator. I think the Commodore games are public domain now. Play the original Pirates! ... 3 months later, you will remember about the forums and modern games :) and come back and tell us how you liked the game play :) I spent millions of hours playing the original Pirates! back in 7th grade and onward. It is simply the best single-player PC game ever made. Ever. EA's Wasteland on the C64 comes in a close second.

Well I am glad you posted this up here. I played a pirates game on a sega I believe. I also recently played the rather crappy pirates of the carribean on my xbox.

Hopefully this does not suck like that did.

If the page doesn't work, hit refresh. I think IE only works with the emulator.
