Need Suggestions.

So, my grandfather and I built this. It still needs to be wired, but I also need to come up with some sort of paint scheme. Any ideas?

The boat looks very COOL!!!

I would plan on enclosing that motor somehow, otherwise the first time out you will short circuit it with the first wave that hits the boat.

Additionally, should the motor not be facing the other way? I ask because it seems like your airflow will be obstructed somewhat by the column that it is setting on. This will create turbulence right behind the propeller which can't be good.

One more thing...the propeller seems a bit small to propel a boat that large. Did you all research the power the motor will deliver in combination with the propeller chosen?

how complicated of a paint scheme are you two capable of? I always liked the two toned paint slapts. Like black and red or something, those are always sweet.

The motor can actually operate in water. Don't ask me why or how, but even the documentation says to run the motor at a slow speed in water for a short time before you use it for the first time.

Not the way the boat was designed. It sucks air in and then propels is backwards. Perfectly fine for this type of boat.

The motor is fast enough to propel this boat, even with the 6 C cell batteries and the servo onboard. The frame of the wood is balsa wood. Very light. Besides, my grandfather used to make model airplanes and boats years ago and I would assume he would know how powerful the motor would need to be for a boat like this.

As complicated as it can get I guess. However, I prefer something simpler.

I was thinking painting the boat all black, with some red striping and some sort of markings/emblem/symbol.
