Holy Help!

I have a 68 in math and need a 70% to pass and ned at least a 95 % on this homework paper for friday can u guys help with some of theeese questions? it would be greatly appreciated.
The Preffered reader card at waldenbooks costs 10$ this card gives you a 15% discount on all purchased books. For everydollar u spend(after the discount) you get 1 point. for every 100 points you earn you will recieve a 5.00$ gift certificate. howwever that card is only good for 1 year each year u must purchase a new card.

**ignore any taxes for all questions
**show all work

1if you bought 50$ worth of books how much would u save with a 15% discount?
2 if you bought 120$ worth of books and u save 15% how much would u save?
3how much did you need to spend to save te cost of the card.

Gift certificate questions
4if you bought 100$ of books what would the cosr be after the discount
5if you bought 240$ of books what would the new cost be after the discount?
what would you need to spend to earn a 5.00$ gift certificate?

questions on comparison:
7does barnes and noble have a similar preferred reader program?
8 what is it?
9 which do you think is better?

again if u cant do it or dont have the time its ok its just a last ditch effort by me not to go to summer skool

2. $18.00
For question 3 are you asking dollar wise or percentage?
4. $85.00
5. $36.00
Can't asnswer 7 8 and 9 that's one you have to do on your own. Again i haven't done this stuff for 17 years. Hope i don't look like a tard being wrong. Someone ought to smack your spelling teacher.

Thu Jun 02, 2005 11:39 am

one other question what forumula did you use to get ure answer?

Thu Jun 02, 2005 12:30 pm

O.k....made a few mistakes but i believe i fixed them. It should look like this....
1. $7.50
2. $18.00
3. 66.69x15%=$10.00
4. $85.00
5. $36.00
6. 33.33x15%=$5.00
7,8,9 is all yours to do.
This is all done after the discount and when using percentage you always multiply. Use the calculator on your comp and double check. Been alongtime for me so i hope im not wrong. Hope you pass.

4. $75

100 x .15 = 15
100 - 15 = 75

5. $204

240 x .15 = 36
240 - 36 = 204

????

Your killing me. The answers are in front of you. I'm not going to do it all for you. I'm sure you can figure out the rest. All i used was a calculator which you have on your comp. Your making it harder than it has to be. Don't read everything they say cause some of it doesn't mean anything at all. They put crap in the paragraph to throw you off. Read 1 line at a time and answer one question at a time. You will see half the crap there has nothing to do with any of the questions. Doing percentage is multiplying. I gave you the answers the way i figured them. Sorry i can't do more.

damn. if you're having trouble with that, you better start searching for a tutor for whenever you get to algebra.
