Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

I have Cablevision and pay through the nose for basic cable (which does not include HBO). I will not pay another $14.95 a month for HBO and a couple of other lame movie channels.
Thank God Verizon Fios is coming soon here!
I have high hopes

What is Verizon Fios?

Is that tonight? Forgot, but I have on demand, so I can just watch it whenever I want.

Fios is a fiber service being introduced by Verizon. They run fiber to your house, which will not have the digital to cable lag bubble. At present, they have several packages, but the one I'm interested in is 15mb/s down and 2mb/s up for $49.95 a month. They are supposed to be offering DirectTV programming over the fiber at some point in the future also, along with VOIP service.

2Mb/s up? Now I'm jealous! Comcast keeps adding DL speed, but my UL is stuck at 384Kb/s.

sounds like my cable company...4MBS down an 386 up....wish the would increase the upload to atleast 3MBS other than that its great..

So, what did everyone think? I loved it!

I liked it, I was a little confused at times (I consider that a good thing). I am going to watch it a few more times before next week's episode. Definitely a good addition to the HBO lineup.
From the reviews I read, the first two episodes are a little slow as they introduce the characters, and then it starts to get better. I have a feeling I'll like it more with repeated viewing, as I'll start to catch the little things I missed and I'll have a better grip on who's who. Like I say, this is a good thing, I like shows that force me to work a little, like Deadwood this season when they started getting that super Shakespeare type dialogue.

They should have started this right after gladiator came out.

I wish they had kept Carnivale, and started Rome, and never started some of these other crappy shows, like 'The Comeback' and 'Unscripted'. Entourage I don't mind, mostly 'cuz the guy who plays the agent is hilarious, but I could live without 'Entourage' if it meant having Carnivale back.

I just wish showtime had not canceled Jeremiah. That was a cool show.

It's good, it's still little tough to follow who is who, of course it doesn't help every man has the same haircut, every woman has the same haircut. I expected it to better right off the bat somehow, but I do like it. Deadwood is still my favorite at this point, followed by the Sopranos.

If you know history, you will jump right into the show as the over all story is factual.
More importantly, HBO's best drama show, The Wire, just started rerunning season 3 on On Demand.
