ECGN Forgotten Hope 2 server?

Mon Sep 05, 2005 12:22 pm

When Forgotten Hope 2 reaches 1.0 release, is ECGN thinking of running it on one it's BF2 servers?

If it's decent, I could really see myself playing FH2 more than vanilla BF2. I have to admit, I really miss the whole WWII thing, I miss BF1942.

The modern stuff is neat, but give me Wake Island with the improved graphics and VOIP of BF2 and I'll be in heaven.
Man, I really miss Wake Island.

Who else is interested in FH2? For those of you that haven't heard, FH2 is a WWII mod for Battlefield 2, from a very reputable team of modders.

Glory of War will definitely be running an FH2 server. ;)

When is FH2 going to be released?

And I love WW2 themed games.

My money is on BG2 for the first WW2 BF2 mod release. I like FH better, but the BG2 guys seem to be much further ahead. FH hasn't even moved on to BF2, they are still planning another release for 1942! I bet they don't get a release out until next spring/summer!

Don't forget about POE! That mod is gonna rock.

BG2?

BattleGroup42 was another realism-based mod that focused more heavily on the variety and realism of vehicles and weaponry than it did the various bells and whistles of FH. Thus, it tended not to look quite as flashy or polished as FH was, but it did have some solid strengths, and was usually better about getting releases out quicker than FH.

Looking forward to those mods also. Am REALLY looking forward to the Command and conquer FPS that takes place in the Red Alert time line.

Hopefully we will see some of these out this fall/ winter.

Atleast they WILL NOT be like Hl shit shingle community... have not seen a half assed mod yet for the source engine.

Doubt EcgN will have a FH server, thats what GofW is for, among other things/ games.

Looking forward to it.

I say that not because I am a BG2 fan, but they seem to have a new gun/vehicle added into the game each week.

I'm with you. There's just something about WWII era games, I can't put my finger on it.

Day of Defeat:Source will be released soon as well.

Aww crap. I was thinking how great it would be if BF1942 maps were recreated, but it just occured to me: No moveable ships in BF2 Engine, as far as I know. Granted, most idiots just drove the carrier off the map or parked it right in front of a defgun, but still, carriers and battleships were important on some maps, including one of my favs, Wake Island.
I guess you can't home again.
