NFL week 3

Sun Sep 25, 2005 9:57 pm

Wow, that was one tense game, Pats vs Steelers. I feel bad for Steeler's fans, that must be a tough loss. Even beat up and not quite in last year's form, the Pats are just a hard team to kill. Hard hitting game though, very exciting. Corey Dillon really found a way to pitch in and pass block when his running game was held in check by the Steelers. I pray Rodney Harrisons knee isn't hurt to badly, but it looked bad on instant replay.

I think I am still screaming at my TV!! :) Intense game it was!

Well the Bills upset me for the second week in a row.

But, LT made me really happy for fantasy football. His 3 rushing td's and 1 passing td helped we win. :)

before the years over the pats will have an entirely new defense, but still wont be stopped!!! what?! what?! cant stop us, what!

so the Pats win on a field goal with 1 second left. 23-20.
The Eagles win on a field goal with 9 seconds left. 23-20.
??

You have to admire the heart of David Akers. Kicking with a painful hamstring injury to win it from 23 yards out.
Hopefully this will heal in the next week or so. It is evident how important kickers are.

In the words of my grandfather, my father and now me. The Jets are a bunch of bums. :)

What's the deal with the Jets? They have a pretty talented squad, I expect them to be competitive for AFC East title.

They may have to look at their coach at this point.

So true. He deserves an applause.

Oh boy, here we go.
Turns out there was a clock error and the Pats vs Steelers game wound up with 52 seconds getting added right at the start of the 4th quarter.

I can imagine the crying that is about to be unleashed.

they might as well keep that info to themselves and fix it from the inside. coaches might get all over the clock guys now after this....

Mon Sep 26, 2005 9:05 pm

yeah, I agree. This is kind of a sensitive issue though, there are quite a lot of whackos that think the Pat's have bribed all the officials in the NFL and that why they win games. Conspiracy nuts, ya gotta love em. :)

Tue Sep 27, 2005 5:31 am

Yeah, some are calling it clockgate...I guess they don't realize that the game would have evolved differently if there had been less time, and the same plays would probably not have been called or made....Hmmm...Instead of 52 seconds left there are only 2 seconds left, maybe we should run the ball one more time and burn up some clock....You get the point...Either way, a bad call by an official would have more to do with the outcome than that mistake which happened with almost 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter. :)
