Stupid move on Infinity's part.. When I heard that I went and bought myself a Sirius radio... :D

Stern got old for me a long time ago, the movie was good though :)

Stern is OK in small or limited doses. Listening to him every day for weeks, months at a time got really dull. He can fall into the same rut most Talk Radio falls into all the time: beating the dead horse syndrome.

Stern especially follows that when he starts a rant following anything about the FCC... if anyone does something that he's been fined for, you hear about it for a week straight. Yeah the double standards suck, but just let it go for Christ's sake.

Only reason hes gotten "old" is cause he is so edited now that its the same thing over and over. With going to Sirius it should get good again..

My morning commute would SUCK with no Stern

well said padre, I can hear him now and then but more than 2 days in a row is just annoying. I have no idea why he is so popular.

Oh lets talk about lesbains again, wow that's funny.
Oh lets talk about me and how much of a rebel I am, and how the world is against me. But 500 million, I guess it worked.

Tue Nov 08, 2005 11:54 am

I'm with Padre and Sox. I couldn't have said it any better.

I don't really like him (his show) so I exercise my right to not listen to him. I find his humor very childish/brutish/generally ignorant with very few exceptions.

Tue Nov 08, 2005 12:04 pm

If im not listening to sports radio in the morning its stern.

Tue Nov 08, 2005 12:28 pm

I think Stern's show is great... in certain doses. His show isn't as good as it used to be, but I think Bromsin nailed it on the head: he's just not allowed to be funny anymore. For that, his show suffers more and the horse beating gets worse.

Speaking of, Padre's right about beating a dead horse. If I limit myself to just the 15 minute drive to work, then it works out just fine. Since I'm not willing to pay for sat. radio right now, it's back to mp3s since anything else on the radio on the way to work is complete crap. The other local talk shows are boring, unfunny, and talentless -- I'd rather cram screwdrivers in my ears. And the music? Ugh. Thank the gods that at least I can get a channel out of Vermont for some variety and that my deck can play mp3s. Otherwise, I wouldn't even turn the radio on.

I also like what Stern stands for. Yeah, he'e beaten the issue to death, that's true enough. But I do agree with his stance on the FCC in general.

To each his own.. I like Stern. He makes me laugh, somtimes so hard i have trouble driving :)

Have been listening to him for almost 14 years.

Stern is scum.

Tue Nov 08, 2005 2:09 pm

ahh...How I so miss WEQX. I liked listening to Stern when it was available to me. He did have some lackluster moments, but he also had some of the funniest things I've ever heard.

The surest antidote to being funny is an asshole full of money.

Tue Nov 08, 2005 2:38 pm

WEQX is just about the only station worth listening to in this area anymore, Foxtrot. But, you probably knew that.

And Parrot, if that were true, then none of the famous funny guys would... well... be funny. All comedians and funnymen, to a certain degree, are complete assholes. If they weren't, we wouldn't find them quite as funny.

But, to each his own. What's funny or entertaining to one person, is godawfully painful to the next one. Music... humor... you name the form of entertainment and it'll have its share of lovers and haters.
