Wed Dec 07, 2005 9:18 pm

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/12/07/airplane.gunshot/index.html

"It's not like I have a bomb in here. It's not like I want to blow up the plane."
"You were acting like a maniac, and you threatened her with a bomb!"
"- I said I didn't have a bomb!"
"- You said "bomb." "
"- I said, "It's not like I have a bomb." "
"- You said "bomb" on an airplane."
"- What's wrong with saying "bomb" on an airplane?"
"- You can't say "bomb." "
"Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb! You gonna arrest me?"

LOL ha ha ha , stupid jerk ! what did he expect?

Wed Dec 07, 2005 9:37 pm

He was reported to be skitzsofranic and had previosely forgotten to take his medicine...Well let that be a lesson learned everyone don't say "bomb" on a plane...expecially ones with armed goverment agents aboard it...

Nothing about this situation is funny. Why are you people laughing? This guy, travelling with his family, is dead. He shouldnt be.

Wed Dec 07, 2005 11:18 pm

Well I hate to burst your bubble but, A man claiming he has a bomb in his backpack should not be taken lightly. Especially after 9/11. It doens't matter if he was joking or not or that he was bipolar. Plus it was his mistake not to drop his backpack. And when he reaches for his backpack, what do you think an air marshel will do. Let em reach his backpack.

Oh btw CodeRed is that from Meet the Parents when hes on the plane? Your little quotes.

whatever the situation happens to be; you just can't say bomb on an airplane. and besides, this man had plenty of chances to stop. they told him not to move and he kept running out of the plane. if police/air marshals tell you to stop you stop.

let's look at this from another point of view, what if this crazy had a bomb and the air marshal did nothing and a bomb was detonated. what would the news say then?

but in the end you are right this is no laughing matter...

It's too bad, he had mental problems. I guess his wife was right there but couldn't stop it from happening. I guess this is one of the sad after-effects of 9/11.

THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST TAZERED HIM!!!!11111
But then they would have gotten sued by the man's family and all hell break loose.

I mentioned this in another post a while back, but on a Southwestern Airlines flight from FL to NY just before takeoff (not long after 9/11), there was a guy being an absolute jerk and vocally abusing the stewardess. He kept shouting "it's not like I have a bomb or anything. I'm not a f*cking terrorist! Do I look like a f*cking terrorist to you? Does it look like I'd have a f*cking bomb?!"

He wasn't kicked off and the flight continued, albeit late, thanks to him.

shits bound to happen sooner or later. Kudos to the Air Marshall for doing his job to the best of his ability. Sad under the circumstances but the job was performed out of necessity.

yes, that was the dialogue from "Meet the Parents". I thought it was approprately funny.

Note to self: Remember to take medication BEFORE getting on an airplane.

Uh, the Air Marshalls carry guns; not tasers. You wouldn't want the terrorists to know these guys are only carrying tasers. Would a taser work on a guy wearing a rubber suit under his clothes? Who knows, but I don't want to risk my life or anyone's life I know, so that people too dumb to take their meds won't get shot for running on a jetliner claiming they have a bomb. How about some responsibility from the dead guy or at least his wife who KNEW he didn't take his medicine.

In closing I'd like to say to the Air Marshall; NS (nice shot)

Yep I am with you a sick but innocent gets gunned down and you laugh about it. Good work guys.

It's a tough decision for the airmarshalls to make and I think they made the only choice they had if indeed things did happen as they said. There's no need to makes jokes about it though.

I also see no problem with saying bomb on a plane. If you are a terrorist carrying a bomb then that's the time not to say bomb. It's retarded to think that a terrorist is gonna scream out 'Bomb' when he's geting on the plane...

This is the *exact* point of terrorism. It isn't to simply kill X amount of people on 9/11 or whatever. It's to instill fear and make a country less relaxed and confident. The air marshall did what he had to do (from what I've read) but it sucks that our environment has changed into this. I can imagine riding the subway in London is a different experience now too. Maybe not all out panic, but just a little nagging worry in the back of your mind.
