Cheated? I think the cube likely had bumps he could feel with his fingers. Wouldn't call it cheating though.

I used to be able to solve one of those things in under a minute... by taking all the pieces apart and putting the them back into the right places again.

I had a 3rd grade teacher that would solve them for us. She handed it back to me unsolved saying that I had taken the stickers of it and re-arranged them. she was right. This was before I knew the cube could be broken down and re-assembled.
