New exhaust for imports

Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:29 am

I thought there was a funny pics thread but too lazy to search past page 2 to find it.

Damn ricers and their whiny exhausts.

hmm my parents own an exhausts company, have to get one of them in stock...:D

i just dualed out my exhaust on my mustang (roush) and omg no mufflers no converters....it sounds so badass :D

you see, as you add bigger exhaust, and certain stickers, other aftermarket products...eventually your 2.2 liter engine will drive the car to be faster than the speed of light. :)

I really should stop by sometime on my way down to Indy Greg, I want to see this mustang of yours, and your other racecar. If you let me drive the tang i'll be nice and make sure to use the clutch when shifting ;)

Without a catalytic converter. You wouldn't pass inspection here. On my truck, I just ran cat-back exhaust. NO not a cat on the muffler :P That 6 liter makes is sound good enough for me. Plus I hate these little loud tuner cars. Specially at 3 a.m.

I posted this before in another thread but I think it's appropriate here as well so excuse the double posting. :D

Imports are the muscle cars of old days. If you look at the prices of muscle cars from way back when, and im not talking about those restricted 70’s cars but more the ones of my dads generation from the 60’s. Back then you could afford to buy a fast, soupped up from the factory bad ass car. Now days, the prices of any sports car, even the cheap ones is horrible. Also, I think this guy forgets when he was a kid, even if he was one back when the big 3 ruled the world. Adolescents/young adults back in the 60’s did crazy stuff with there cars to, they never had though so many bolt-on’s and stuff like that. I like imports, but I still love muscle cars more, heck I like muscle cars more then supercars, but that’s beyond the point. Now days you can buy endless amounts of cool bolt-ons for imports. I think you can see some bad ass ones that people put a lot of time and money into. I think they look better then these soccer mom vans, or the cookie cut look of most production cars now days (we are getting somewhat better). Lets face it, with emission laws as tight as they are, & prices so high, what do you expect the kids to do? They want fast cool cars, that’s what it boils down to, and that’s what it has always been.

Each generation tends to be different than the one before in terms of what it finds appealling. What is 'cool' to one generation is clownish to the other. It's a funny story of generation clash and illustrates the younger generation's dismissal of the older generation's achievements. :D

There are many ways to look at the story and to dissect it from endless viewpoints, in the end, I just think it's funny.

Another issue is streetrod vs hotrod. I'm def a hotrodder I believe in functionality over fancy million dollar looks. I hate those super fancy show cars that no one can drive, I'm still going to the Ridler this year but it's a shame that people don't actually do what your supposed to with those vehicles, and that drive them. Instead they are to afraid to get a scratch and leave them in a show room or garage.

To each his own. I love old muscle cars. My dad had alot of them. I like the looks, the way they drive everything. The onlt thing I don't like is the gas milage. To me this is the best car in the world. But who am I?
