Rick Rubin to produce next Metallica Album

Pretty excited to hear whats coming. Every album i own thats produced by Rubin is f-ing awesome.

Yeah yeah, Metallica sold out. Whatever.

I wont be buying it. The band sucked after Mustaine left, Megadeth ftw.

I'm a big 'deth fan but which Metallica album did you like featuring Dave? If you have the "No life til leather" demo then thats about it.

I for one am grateful they kicked Dave out. That spawned Megadeth and added to my metal collection...

affirmative King, megadeath has an awesome sound too.

I was a little dis-apointed in Met's last album so Ihope this one is better.

Metalica are sooo last century :)

I gotta disagree on Megadeth's last album, i think it is a fantastic album. I think its supremely better than the world needs a hero and has a well produced sound to it.

I think kill em all was great, more agressive sound, better tunes, and 10x the better guitar playing. Kirk hammet is a little bitch.

i would like to see both bands tour together, now that would be a concert to see

wow rseven, affirmative, but Mustaine would never do it. I still hear him every now and then piss and moan about not being in Metallica still to this day.

Where do you hear that? I hear him talking about kicking metallica's ass every so often, but never about wishing he was in it..

I watched a pretty long interview with Mustane where he was still VERY bitter about being ousted from Metallica. Face it, with James' and Lars' massive egos, there is no room for Dave's (and you have to admit that he has quite the ego). They needed someone passive like Kirk who'll jam to whatever. Besides, when Marty Friedman joined, Dave admitted that he was more speed than anything else. Kirk brought some melody to the music...

You don't like the coffee can sound?

I was a little dis-apointed in Met's last album so Ihope this one is better.

St. Anger SUCKED! The sound was awful. The drums were awful (see above). I can see wanting to do something different...but how 'bout something *good* different not *crap* different.

Apples and oranges man... and all opinion.

is Vai better than Satriani?

is Phil a better singer than James?

is there anyone who was better than cliff?

Some people like coffee, some like tea. As long as you enjoy the music these people put out then thats all that matters.
