I've always had a place in my heart for airships. If you ever read about the Akron or Macon, the Graf Zeppelin or even the Hindenburg, the voyages they made, and the things they did were incredible.
That said, I've been reading about these sorts of pipe dreams for over ten years, and have yet to see anything materialize. Skunkworks is supposedly working on something, but it'll probably end up as another government dead-end project, never getting past the prototype stage, if that.
On the 1% chance someone actually builds one of these, though, I'd be one of the first to sign up. I think it'd be an incredible way to travel.

Yay and when one of those propellers malfunctions even more people will be able to plummet 800 feet to their deaths in a gas filed death trap. Woot!

It filled with helium, so it won't explode when it crashes. On the other hand we'll have to listen to all those survivors moaning and groaning like Alvin and Chipmunks.
