If it's true... Good.

Hope he has fun getting sodomised by satan in hell. Should come as a shock when he finds he's the only virgin and it's virgin surgeon time...

Hard to say really..

There has been some talk floating around that since hes been such a loose cannon as of late, that he may of intentionally been given up. Least thats what a co-worker of mine mentioned when he heard the news.

Well it could mean a step down in attacks without him pedaling the hate and organising them. But it could mean a step up in vengence attacks, most likely and hopefully the first one, but time will tell.

This is great news. As for the future, I look at it like this: it can go three ways, his replacement is better, the same, or worse (at being an effective terrorist). I'll put my money on worse because the people under him are more like field agents for lack of a better term, I would assume Zarqawi would have called the shots and sent his underlings to do the dirty work (and take the risks). I would guess his underlings get killed like crazy being 'in the field' and all, so the talent pool beneath him should be diluted a bit. Add to that they hit him during a meeting, perhaps with his highest ranking underlings? It might be like an airstrike that kills the General and all his junior officers, leaving enlisted men to start over. That's a lotta 'ifs', but here's hoping for the best!

I just got up and am watching this on cnn now. This great news! It just shows, you can run.. but you can't hide forever.
As far as the outcome? Hopefully things will start to turn to the better. Like some of you already said.. hopefully his followers will be shaken up and uncertain of thier own future.

OH.. they are showing the airstrike on video on cnn right now..

I hear he was sniping and they dropped a jeep on him.

i think they just made a big mistake, i think this guy will be more powerful in his death than when he was alive, to these people a matyr is a very powerful symbol as to what there fighting for and i think it will just strengthen there resolve.

I'm tickled pink at the news, but Ouch may have a point. The following is from MSNBC:

Al-Qaida in Iraq confirmed al-Zarqawi’s death and vowed to continue its “holy war,” according to a statement posted on a Web site.

“We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

“The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme.”

Is Bush really so stupid that he believes his statement below or is it just an attempt to raise his approval ratings??

Al-Zarqawi's death gives Iraq a chance to "turn the tide" in the fight against the nation's insurgency, President Bush said at the White House.

I am glad they killed him but it is not going to make the Iraq or Al-Q problems any better. He is a martyr now to the terrorists.
