US/CANADA/MEXICO merger?

Tue Jun 13, 2006 9:00 pm

Interesting article. I for one prey there's no truth to it.

better not be true

Tue Jun 13, 2006 10:04 pm

Of course it's true.

Everything on the WorldNetDaily is true.

I don't understand what's so scary. It's like a NATO defense agreement tacked onto NAFTA, with some additional open-borders agreements. It's not even as joint as the EU (no common currency, ie)

Besides,

A) The Canadians want no part of our problems...

B) We're the most powerful economically and politically, so even if these was some scheme for an EU like unification (and really, that's not saying much, those countries are still quite apart from each other), we would undoubtably have more control by sheer mass

C) It's on World Net Daily

Tue Jun 13, 2006 10:56 pm

I'll believe it when I see it on Weekly World News.

Tue Jun 13, 2006 11:15 pm

one step closer to world government, can't hardly wait...j/k.

i'm curious to know if thats real or not, sounds kinda interesting.

It's real, but its just more cooperating on stuff (Emergency Management, Pandemic Influenza, Energy Security, Secure Borders). No need to panic yet.

Here's a different source (also known to bend the truth)

weekly world news needs a subscription :(

It looks sort of like the EU started out. The EU was orginally just the common market, set up to help european countries get ont heit feet again after WW2 and stop us from trying to kill each other again.

It just looks like a trade agreement to enable free and easy trade to me. Which is why the EU was fine, until it became a Napoleonic attempt by the French to take over Europe again. Mexico would stand to gain the most, from the Economic strength of the US, all be a failing econmomic strength. Canada shouldnt be affected much, unless its by US culture if that was the caswe they would want nothing to do with it. Canada has gun ownership legal too, yet only a few ppl each are shot, compared to the 30,000 a year in the US. I know alot of American hate canada but we dont, we view Canada as America well behaived brother.

"Also envisioned by the CFR task force report were a North American court, a North American inter-parliamentary group, a North American executive commission, a North American military defense command, a North American customs office and a North American development bank".

this sounds alittle more serious than just a trade agreement.

Alofwar, could your statements be any more anti-American? Sheeesh !! Relax, dude.

As far as the article goes.. It looks to me like something along the lines of the North American Free Trade agreement, or something like that. Nothing wrong with free trade!!
It's not some scheme to make N. America one big super state, like the article is trying to make you believe.

The Security and Prosperity Partnership... SPP sounds like a good name to me. What you say BTT?
Seriously though, it would get shot down by congress. Bush has been doing all sorts of shady stuff behind the backs of congress and the American people.

Im not being anti American, im rather pro American by European standards, i just like to make fun.

To be honest i dont know why Americans should complain, America is obviously gonna have the most power and influence. Mexico should gain economically, and i cant see how it would benefit Canada that much.
