not so sure how i feel about this, for one thing i think they should make a voyager movie and for another i don't think anyone can ever be kirk like shatner did.

I vote for a Voyager movie. Voyager was my favorite series. TNG is my second. Hated DS9.

I've said it before and I'll say it again but Star Trek got shit after it ceased to be about das Shatner sleasing his way around the universe trying to make it with hot alien babes...

no way, voyager is by far the second best after TNG. and if they aren't making any more TNG movies it should be voyager. or some more dominion wars stuff, that was the best part of DS9

For me:

Voyager
TNG
Originals
DS9 (except the Dominion wars)

I'd love a Voyager movie. But I believe in one of the TNG movies (the last one), Janeway was an admiral after their safe return home. If you can call it that, lol.

The first time I read the headline, I saw it as Matt Dillon, not Matt Damon. I thought, "Dillon, what a horrible choice." But Matt Damon might be able to pull off a halfway decent Kirk.

Just goes to show that reading is fundamental.

This is also being directed by J.J. Abrams who happened to be the guy behind both recently concluded ALIAS series and the ongoing LOST series. So I look at this with some optimism because the director is good and it looks like thery are bringing in some good acting talent also.

Wow, that's inspired casting. I hate to admit it, but I can really see Matt Damon as Capt Kirk. Make sure he spends a little time in the Bill Shatner Academy of Overacting, and I think it can work.

they wouldn't have to follow the movie series i don't think, they could do one about the voyager crew soon after they returned home

Wonder if the part involves Matt Damon in a toupee.

I tell ya, the rest of the cast looks absolutely stellar!

Oh, wait. There isn't any. Just Matt Damon. Sweet. It's going to be a 2 and a half hour long Kirk soliloquy by Matt Damon.

Honestly, I'd rather see William Shatner play Matt Damon's character in a remake of Goodwill Hunting.
