Trade in Your Violent Games for Toys
Don't hurt yourself, exchange those murder-sims today.

We know you're concerned. You just got Gears of War and suddenly you find yourself shocked to see one of your friends brutally dismembered by a chainsaw bayonet. Don't freak out. SF Gate recommends you slowly head over to Fruitvale Elementary School in Oakland, where you can exchange that violent trash for a friendlytoy or quality reading material at the "War Against Improper Toys Drive."
Officials at the Oakland Unified School District have been concerned about the way violent toys and games trivialize war and violence -- so, naturally, they have initiated a war against "Improper Toys" as a retaliatory measure. Over the last few years, happy kids have exchanged dozens of replica shotguns, rifles, pistols, knives and games for books and toys. Hey -- it's Oakland.
If you're interested in trading in a violent toy or game, the school's located at 3200 Boston Ave, between the Interstate 580 overpass and School Street. Maybe you can convince them to upgrade your 50 Cent game into Viva Pinata or something? Here's hoping. Doors open at 9am.
