I could probably go on for days talking about the various, err, foreign things I have found in various body cavities. 
Bugs in ears are not terribly unusual. Makes a great argument for not cleaning out your ears so religiously like some do. A small amount of ear wax is good...amongst other things it repels bugs.

Hell, I make homemade Citronella candles with my wax & sell 'em to the neighbors! Scares all the critters away for those summer BBQs!!
