Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Jump out of a perfectly good airplane? I am about to.

Getting ready to go skydiving. It is my first time and I am really excited. It is something I have wanted to do for years. It was a 30th b-day present from my family. We got it for my fathers 60th b-day too. So him and I will be jumping around 1 o'clock. If my 9 button works and the chute deploys I will hopefully have a video buy the end of the weekend. Not sure if they film it in digital or VHS. See ya on theGROUNDDDDD!!!!!!

Yes I would.
...because I already have
Went about two years ago in North Carolina (just near southern VA border) and it was a blast. Just a single prop plane and we crammed about 6 ppl in it. Kinda weird getting to 10,000 feet and the pilot opening the door and ordering us to "hop out". I was tandem to some guy but it was still really awesome. My favorite part was signing the release form admitting that they were not liable for "loss of limbs". I got a DVD of the jump to go with it, but it cost some extra. I figured what the hell, since I wouldn't be doing it twice.
Good luck, its a great trip

Not unless I was planning on dying anyway. Gotta make my top 10 list of potential ways to go though

Well my 9 button worked. What a fucking blast. As soon as I can afford it I am going back. Man was that fun. I also got a video on DVD but no DVD reader on my PC. SO as soon as I find someone with one and get the video to my PC I will show you guys.

Tandem, 10,000 feet and yes the pilot had a chute

and it was a grass runway in the foothills to the blue ridge mountains in western NC. Hell of a view on the way up with six people plus the pilot packed into a space a bit bigger then a phone booth.

Funny how I haven't been up this late and felt this good in a while. A good dose of adrenaline will do that I guess.

Tony you don't happen to remember the name of the skydiving place do you? Sounds similar to the one I went to.

Adrenalin skydive I think. Was off exit 79 on interstate 77

Haha! Yep I went to the same place. That's awesome.
Here's the place:

Yup that's the one.

They have a bigger packing tent now. But that seems the only improvement.

Two things I still remember from that place besides the jump:
There are 4 clamps that connect you to the instructor, did you get the joke about the "5th" hook?
I didn't follow the instructions about spreading out while jumping out the plane door, so we ended up going headfirst for freefall.
