I wasn't able to get online tonight... well actually I wasn't able to do too much sitting in the basement with my wife, 13 week old, 2 cats, and beagle with the power out .
I drove home at 5:30 pm and as I got near the house I heard an odd siren sound getting louder and approaching from the southwest of town.
I have been in this area (central IL) for over 20 years (off and on) and my town has been hit several times... but I have never said "oh shit, get downstaitrs" like I did tonight. Just as I came in and told my wife to get George (my newborn) downstairs.. the towns tornado siren went off.
Well, luckily all is well. But I heard that some buildings got destroyed. I am going to drive out and see.

Grats on the brat Sannop

Glad to hear you all came through safely and without loss. I would rather take the hurricane risk down here than the tornado risk up there... Hope all continues to go well for you throughout "the season".

Thanks guys. No severe damage in town... but a path of trees knockdown.
We are lucky... a nearby town still hasn't gotten power back. Best Buy, Lowe's are all closed, But Home Depot is running on a generator.
I moved back to IL form Orlando 3 years ago. 9 years in that area.... yep I remember Hurricane seasons.
