Tweaking Windows XP

Wed Jun 25, 2003 12:23 pm

hey guys, I've noticed after installing win XP home, my computer is dreadfully getting slower and slower...i've re-formatted, done the works, but the disk clean option in system tools will freeze, and won't clean the temp files...

I was wondering if there was a good program out there that will tweak your Windows Xp Home Edition for top performance, utilize RAM better, etc etc...any ideas?

PS: I hope it's not TOO complicated, I'm a slow learner with new software :P

There are programs out there that will tweak a ton of options in XP, but I find that doing it yourself will get you the best results by covering more areas. Check out places like TweakXP, they have hundreds of easy to follow tweaks, as well as individual tweak programs that can speed up XP. Beyond that, putting "tweak xp" into a search engine will turn up hundreds of sites with tips on tweaking XP for maximun performance.

I was just wondering the same question, that tmp files and uninstall files has eaten up almost my entire hard disk drive...
