Where/When/How did you find out about ECGNetwork?

Mon Jun 30, 2003 10:56 am

I found it when it was running RTCW as OC48 Muthafucka. I found it becuase it was a 64 player server and I would get about a 115 ping ON DIAL UP!!! Then I got cable and Could then play with about a 60 ping. Then soon after that it became OC48gaming.com I found the website and found out it was also running BF1942 and been playing mostly that ever since. Now it's ECGNetwork.com and running more games and now also a server host. If not for these servers I probably would have got tired of high pings, crappy connections, and idiot players a long time ago and may not still being playing some games.

I found ECGN when they were OC48. Randomly joined the server and saw the teamspeak banner on the into screen. I had never heard of teamspeak so I checked it out. I am sure glad I did. BF is a great game but playing with voice comms (and skilled, responsive teammates) makes all the difference in the world. I have been here ever since.

One day decided to get into on-line gaming and got into the RTCW in-game browser, I saw a 64 playrs server map, and decided to get into, that server was OC48 muthafucka...
Since then I haven´t played on any other server ..., ow, wait yes, the ASB server, but it doesn´t count , it is hosted by ECGN anyway...

You play in {Asb} sever cool I'll see you there. Oh anyway I found ECGN when my friend had just gotten Wolf and I told him to play on a 64 man sever and there it was. THen I found out about the stats and thats that.

I found out about us when I was playing on OC48 Motha Fucka server.

I saw Tom the smacktard typing in bad rcon commands and it was spitting out errors. I politely suggested to him the proper commands and he asked me if I wanted to do it.

I said sure.

And that was the start of our beautiful relationship.

( this was like 1 and a half years ago )

I found out about OC48 before it was OC48. Some lame ass (me) had a hosting business and was also into gaming, so he put up an RTCW server to test bandwidth, and left it up a long time.....until some other lame ass took over the admin of the RTCW server cuz this lameass didn't know what to do.

He used to be a TFC/HL junkie, then fell in love with RTCW, then BF1942. Now he doesn't have time to play any games....unfortunately.

Hmm mine is sort of an interesting story.

I first found ECGN when my Counter-Strike clan needed a server so we got one from here. That was before ECGN and OC48 were combined. The 'old' ECGN you could say.

After the first few months, I became a news poster/reporter.

After a month of that, I became HL Support like I am now.

Was sorting through servers about 4 months ago using All Seeing Eye and ECGN was the only 60 player server with great pings. I played on the server everytime for about 2 weeks and then saw the banner that gave out the Team Speak server address. I said to myself "this is what I have been looking" a public 60 player server with free Team Speak access. I finally know what heaven is like.

Played medal of honor A LOT, then got tired of it. Bought BF 1942 and played on random servers till I saw 0C48 listed and gav eit a shot. Well the rest is history and you all have to now deal with STUKABULI! ;)

Same for me except for the dial up part, I played RTCW forever and then found the site, trolled here a while before signing up and finally started playing BF when I got a less crappy computer

Last Feb. I actually joined another group during my first 2 weeks of playing. I was paying dues and we had closed server nights etc etc. One night there wasn't anyone on our server so two of us went "server hunting" together. He found ECGN and gave me the IP.

One of my firsts posts about the negative image I had gotten of some the admins was seriously some "going away" advice to let the hosts know. However, the post responses from the likes of Doom and Wairudo along with an excellant PM from residue convinced me to give ECGN another chance.

I went back and forth between the two for the first month, but they rarely had any admins and their server started to look like another EA server. So I stayed on ECGN for my BF games.
