SWG pissing me off....

Tue Jul 22, 2003 6:31 pm

So far i give SWG a 0/10. First off, when i try to join a server it tells me it is either "still loading" or "you cannot create anymore charactors in this galaxy". When i do happen to get in the game i CTD almost instantly

Make a character on Kettemoor. I play there, Buli plays there, and I believe a few others also play on that server. Its a west coast RP server, and in my almost month of playing its never been down. Shoot Nadnerb N'ugg an email when you get on that server. I'll hook you up with things you need to get you going.

I think a game who's main draw right now is mining ore and crafting pastries was designed from the ground up to make you hate it.

Let's see, pay for the game, then pay more per month to do stuff I wouldn't be caught dead doing in real life. And then there's always the possibility of those that buy in-game cash from eBay with their hard earned real-world cash.

Fucking brain surgeons, the lot of ya'.

(and before anyone gets their panties in a twist, this was what we call a "joke", I've tried out MMORPG's before and just didn't find them to my liking)

I cant even create a new character without the game crashing now...

My speakers start screaching and my computer gets totally locked up. Any help would be appreciated... and yes all my other games run fine.

Reinstall? Contact customer support? Update your drivers?

Tue Jul 22, 2003 9:58 pm

Ive done it all, ive posted on their customer support forums, apparently alot of ppl have this problem but the moderators are trying to help us with nonsense. Still waiting for an effective reply

Well, don't forget that there are only so many developers. Since the game isn't even 2 months old, it is still a bit buggy. They release patches almost every other day too.

Maybe they should rename it...

......STAR WARS......
THE SIMS STRIKE BACK

:D

hey Bingham---what's wrong with baking pastries??? huh? you gadda problem wif 'dat???
Actually I felt the same way you did about MMORPG's, until now. The pastries and mining isn't for me, so I'm shooting stuff and beating people up....more my speed.
The complexity of the things you can do is amazing-and if you thought about giving MMORPG's another try, I'd recommend this one...

NightStalker....don't know what to tell you...sounded like a hardware or driver problem, but guess not...
I'm on Kettenmoor also, and it crashed the other night for the first time in a couple of months...only for about 40 minutes...

Ill try the game tonight on my other computer, too bad it has a geforce2... kinda hope it doesnt work on it so i dont have to live though bad graphics

Better yet... on my 40gb hd i might put windows ME on it to see if that helps, considering that i dont use my 40gb hd anymore

I was reading about the game to try to get myself interested, since a couple of regs keep telling me it's better then sex... and the part that started to draw me in was about the posiblilty of becoming a jedi and it's not something easy to do and diffrent for everyone on how you do it and that you need to build your own lightsaber.. also not easy... anyway that was starting to convince me and then I thought of the monthly fee 15 bucks isn't all that bad after all ( i am a super cheap bastard) its the same price as going to the movies with your honey...actually probably even cheaper.. and thats for just one movie.. if I ever get my connection back up I'll probably get the game you regs will have to help me out...:)

but like Cpl. Bingham said I don't know how people can play something like the sims online I mean does your life suck that much you need a virtual one?? at least with SWG it's much more of a fantasy world. this would my first shot at a MMORG( or what ever the hell it's called)

guess what... crashed. Installing on my other computer. Had to crash right when i was about to get new clothes...

Wed Jul 23, 2003 2:24 pm

I think i have the problem. The game ran fine on my other computer which is currently hooked up to the router. The computer i usually use is connected to the net via a hub then through a router. None of my hardware should be bad seeing none of it is older that 3 months. Now just waiting for them to update kettemoor and see if taking the hub out of the picture fixed it. BTW: got this idea from support forums, ppl talking about hub ports and shit, dunno, anyway wish me luck.
