Headphones, Which one???

Mon Nov 17, 2003 9:49 pm

I've been playing a while on your guys' server, and listen in on Teamspeak a lot of the time, but never talk because I don't have a mic. What is a good cheap mic? I've been looking around a bit, but have nothing to base my decision on? Also can you make commands so while in game, for example, switch from the BF42.com #1 Axis channel to the Allied channel by pushing or holding keys ingame?

I was looking at these, any suggestions?

Yes you can hit keys to switch to just about any station while in the game. If you have a Best Buy near you just pick up a 30 dollar set, thats what I did works great. I only use it for the mic, sound isn't good on head phones.

Here these are the ones I have:

You really only need a mic, I don't wear those on my head I rest them around my neck so I can use the mic ;) .

The sound on headphones is supposed to be just as good, if not better, than the latest sound cards out there. If your sound sucks on your headphones - time to get a new pair.

Yes, go to settings/key settings. There you can create key bindings to switch channels. I use Ctrl-1 for Allied and Ctrl-2 for Axis.

The souns is awsome don't get me wrong, its just the effects its almost too much surround sound. When I used them for RTCW it was hard to tell where the enemy was comming from, with my speakers its easier to tell right or left the way they are set up thats why I use them

I use the logitech usb headphones with built in volume control. cost 39.95 i think. Biggest thing i found out is get one with an inline volume control if you dont your have to tab out of the game everytime you want to change the volume.
