Dead XPC

Anyone else use a Shuttle XPC? This thing has been great for a year and a half. But now it is dead. No power, no lights, no fan, no noise, and no smells. Worked last night... this morning nothing.
The only problem I have ever experienced was occaisonally I would get a keyboard error on boot up (yes the keyboard was plugged in tight). After I would power it off.. it wouldn't start back up for a couple minutes. I could press the power button repeated and hold it down ..but nothing. After 3 or 4 minutes it would start up all by itself. Wierd. So I swapped out the keyboard with a new one and this problem went away.
I am thinking power supply. I ordered one today but I will be going through gaming withdrawls until I get this thing repaired. I drove 50 miles to a friends house for a LAN party today and the damn thing wouldn't fire up.
Anyone else experience this type of problem? What I have done so far:
-Reseated all power plugs
-Pulled out and disconnected all peripherals
-Even pulled the power supply apart to see if there was a fuse inside that might have popped. No fuse inside.
-tried different outlets
-tried different power cords

Does sound like the PSU died on you. Last time I had a PSU die on me, it melted everything inside. Fun stuff.

I know the feeling. when mine went, it toasted my mobo and it smells like burnt toast

Yeah.. that's what is wierd. Power supplies usually smell when they go bad. This one doesn't have any hint of burnt electonics. I might have bought a power supply for nothing. But I have to start somewhere. PS is cheaper and easier than a mainboard in these tiny boxes. I suppose it could be the front panel switch too....

I have a Shuttle XPC and I love it. I've never had the problem you are describing... although it does sound like it might be a power supply.

Sonar.. it was the power supply. All appears to be well now. The new PS was not the same brand so I had to rig the bracket a bit.
Another thing was the cable lengths weren't the best. The mainboard connector was too long so I had to wire tie it up neatly. As you know, there isn't much room in that little case and you don't want to block any airflow. But the power cables for the hard disk and cdrom were a little short. I had to use some electrical tape to protect the wires and run it funky. Didn't want the case to cut the wires.
Overall, I am back in business. Just played 10 minutes of BF and no hiccups. $37.00 from excaliberpc.com.
It was like not having my right arm for 4 days with my PC down.
