Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

All 10 episodes... I love this series, it's so emotionally griping... Everytime I get through it all, I think of how it's a shame that not many people knows the price of freedom, that many great men and women died so that we can live the way we do now. I remember once in my high school life, a guy I knew hated the Remembrance/Memorial day assemblies that is held once a year. He said "Why do we have to go to these stupid boring assemblies, it's a
free country." I looked at him and said, "Exactly. Thanks to them."
Anyway, I'm sure most of us has seen this, I did a search on google and found these resources from Time.com I think they're worth reading, even though its' for students, there's some neat diagrams and pictures if you were ever curious about the real men of the 101st Airborne Regiment.

The problem with the book is when you are done, you will be buying other books by Ambrose.
BTW, Ross from Friends was cast PERFECTLY in the miniseries.

Yeah David Schwimmer was the perfect Sobel for the miniseries.
The guy that was cast as Guarnere always reminds me of Havoc for some odd reason.

If you've ever seen the bonus features on the DVD and you see the real Guarnere, it's eerie how close the actor looks and acts like him.

Agree with Ross fitting that "annoying by the book twit" Sobel character.

Last memorial day I watched the entire series from about 11 am to 4 am.
I also highly recommend Black Hawk Down for its depiction of modern combat.
Don't know why they can't make more war movies like these... focused on the events and the history, with an ensemble cast, instead of one or two "heros" and their sappy love story.

God even as a chick I hated Pearl Harbor. BoB is an amazing series. I also enjoyed We were Soldiers, watched that this weekend.
