And when her 94 year old mother came to her rescue, the cops were thankful they escaped with their lives.

"And when Nellie Scott, Eunice's 94-year-old mother, tried to rinse out her daughter's eye with water from a two-quart Tupperware bowl, what does Miller do? According to Ernie Warren Jr., Eunice's lawyer, the cop pushed Nellie up against a fence and accused her of planning to use the water as a weapon. "

"WATCH OUT, SHE'S GOT WATER! RUN AWAY! CALL THE MARINES!"

Yeah but you have to watch these old people, give them an inch and they will take a slice out of you with the sharp edge of their buss pass. Many a fine officer has been victim to a craftily sharpened bus pass!

I would have to see how big the officers are and how big the old lady was, to give an educated opinion on the situation. Unless she was a larger old lady they should have grab one arm each.

Other thing you have to remember is you cant use pressure points or complinance holds because the normal amount of pressure against older bones could break em, so that would rule out alot of options.

Man, that's apalling. Both what the officers did and how the reporter skewed the story to try and say that all cops are evil.

Sounds like ECGN admins :D back away from the plane!

A quote from the reporter:

"The cops aren't apologizing.

The cops aren't embarrassed.

The cops haven't been disciplined.

And the cops are still insisting, to the bitter end, that they "reasonably believed" this blind ol' bat was a threat to their safety and macho culture"

This claim is so asinine, and generalized that it makes me sick.

To make a general statement saying most/all cops are "bad, untrained".

Maybe she made an aggressive manouevre in the direction of the donuts.

THAT'S RIGHT!

Don't F with us damned oregonians... old women? Hah! Child's play. The blind? Piece of cake. Why, any time now we'll be up to the standards of New York cops and their creative use of toilet plungers... :D

OK, seriously... were those cops out of line? Most probably... but that guy is not a reporter, he's a columnist... and a GRADE A moron to boot... his columns are one of the many reasons I only read the funnies, the movie listings, and the sports page out of the Oregonian Newspaper... everything else leans so far left that it isn't even worth reading

Leftist papers are legal in the states?

They're probably run by leftist old ladies. Send the cops! Oh wait....

Mon Apr 26, 2004 11:49 pm

Hey now Chacal!

Not everyone here hates and suppresses leftists.

Being consistently wrong time and time again ad naseum hasn't stopped a significant portion of our population from being stup.. er leftist.

You never know. The police were probably doing society a favor taking that lady down. Maybe she was heading towards her 02 Caddy and was getting ready to mow down 50 people or so. :D
