software based memory test??

I installed 3 512 MB sticks of RAM last week, now my computer seems to crashing 2-3 times a day, mostly when I play BFV. I think it's the memory, at least one of them anyway. Is there a software based tester that is anywhere near as reliable as hardware based mem testers?

Believe it or not, Microsoft has a similar tool to Memtest that even tells you which stick is bad.
